BTW I have meant for ages (only recently picked up courage to post on here) to say thank you for your marvellous video of LotL. It is so professional. I sent a link to it to LotL and they sent it on to SWT HQ, who Tweeted a link. Did they get in touch with you? It was a shame that your visit co-incided with Blue44 going missing. I must have been there at the same time as you - I volunteer there and was in the hide observing the adult birds' behaviour whilst the search was going on for Blue44.

Thank you KateP the video was a joint effort with my OH ... we both did some filming and he edited and uploaded to youtube, SWT HQ haven't been intouch and I hope they didn't mind us filming, my OH went back the next day to volunteer in the search of Blue 44 but Emma was speaking to RD on the phone while he waited, but on RD advice it was called off... I wonder if you were in the upstairs hide on the Tues evening? we were in the lower part when we saw the Rangers getting in their canoe and paddled across from just under the nest. we could hear voices and a mob ringing on and off. We are going to visit again next year and hope to see more nest action as it was a strange atmosphere filled with sadness on this our first visit.

Updates for Aigan, staying put, Fiddich moving downstream towards Ceulan, Morven, almost a month since the sat pack sent data, this is normal (ish) and Red 8T who has hung up a 'do not disturb' sign on his roost in the mangroves. One of the quietest updates to date.

Hi KateP: It was good that you took that initiative, if you had not done that, the connection between the reserves would not have happened. My neighbour, a Swedish lady, was very near les Etangs, where her son is building a house for his family, she is back home now. I had thought if only, I had the phone number in France, because she often asks me about the ospreys.

The staff are very busy and don't have the time that I do for doing internet research, esp with all the work they have to do downloading, analysing & uploading the sat data. Just pleased that my idea was taken up and has proved fruitful. I love seeing photos of Blue44 & hearing all the news about him. I wld v much like to go out to France to see him, but it wld be quite expensive, esp as he wld prob decide to head off to Africa just as I arrived!
