Well back in 2005 when Henry came back to Loch Garten and found EJ shacked with another man in the form of Red T he showed his displeasure by kicking the eggs out of the nest. EJ showed her disapproval by disappearing for nine whole days. Henry hated infedility. Folklore has it that Henry had to go and get her. While he was away another couple snuck in there and tried to take over the Loch Garten nest. Anyway Henry and EJ were restored to being KIng and Queen of Loch Garten but EJ could not be convinced to lay a second clutch of eggs no matter how many fish Henry brought her.
For summary see Loch Garten 2005

OK, JSB, thanks :-)
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Tiger thanks for the background info on Henry and EJ. I have seen the video of him kicking one of the eggs off the nest and had heard why he had done it (i was visiting LG then) but I think I didnt possibly pay enough attention to the details. So your post was very informative :) as was the 2005 summary. Isnt it strange the different characteristics that ospreys have and how they react to situations? bit like humans in a way ;)
I momentarily thought that I should rename the thread, 'Where are they now...and where is Stan going'?
But here are the updates for BlueYD and Blue44. Blue YD, who started later is the one who is doing the distance, while 44 is taking things at a more relaxed pace.
jsb that made me laugh about stan :D

Mike, says Ceulan in same place....cannot find any other news. Going to an appointment soon, will recheck on my return.
Noticed on Devon Bird News Website, that Quote:-
"10:30 1 Osprey located on a post in the marsh between Chivenor riverbank and the runway approach." TODAY
This is more than likely Fearna as she has been in and around this area for several days now AS REPORTED by Roy.
Edit: Looks as though Fearna is another Osprey to have had her photograph taken during migration, have tried to see if the photograph has been posted anywhere but so far no luck.

I wonder how close an osprey needs to be to see the antenna on it's back, with the naked eye. We will know better, when RD comes up with a report, but since he is in the Far East, that may not be for a while? Re Fearna, thanks Mary GK
Thanks Doggie, no I hadnt seen it, there are never tooooo many alerts to news of our Ospreys being it good or bad news. I am sure they are trying to get someone to find out what happened to 13. LD have been so unlucky with their juveniles.
