How many of us are torn between dread and hope for the new day to come?
The peace and quiet of the LG nest is punctuated solely by unalarming chick noises. Long may that last.

At the end of the day, this is how nature intended it to be, whether we like it or not.

I wonder if and how much they read from our forum? Honestly, I have never seen such an attack before. Awful. I wonder what the next blog would say??????????

Sorry to hear sad news for all at LG. I do not think this could be helped & certainly nobodys fault.
2 great chicks surviving which is great news.
Love to all

One Life - Live It!!
Valmc that is great news, I have to confess to being so engrossed here that I have not be reading at wildlife village so have missed your updates there
Hi Valmc - not 'seen' you around as much this year. Great to hear that your nest is doing well, especially after the early problems with (human) intruders.
When food is scarce the littlest won't get enough and can die. I understand the center can't provide fish carry out for every nest that doesn't have enough .
However, #2's violence toward #3 was happening when food was plentiful. It got worse when food was scarce. But the unprovoked attacks each time #3 raised his head was numbing . Maybe the center should watch the last fatal attack. All #3 did was raise it's head from a lying position .
