How many of us are torn between dread and hope for the new day to come?
The peace and quiet of the LG nest is punctuated solely by unalarming chick noises. Long may that last.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Well it looks like the lens has been well and truly lasered.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
I am so sad that little #3 has died and yes, as others have said, it is nature and nobody's fault, but what saddens me most was how it suffered so terribly this last week.......and not to have our genuine concerns addressed. If other bloggers say they have never seen anything like it so neither, probably, has LG and to have our concerns so lightly dismissed as "normal" was condescending. As TIGER says, perhaps they will sit up and take note now. Our interests, concerns and observations are valid.
Poor SCYLLA ....and CIRRUS will be shocked when they come back.
Sleep tight, wee Bravery, an' fly like the wind. Ye might be gone but ye'll never be forgotten.
For anyone that wishes to see the last few minutes of #3's life (it's hard to watch) here it is. After the last attack by #2, she sits on #3 until the end :o((
Loch Garten stats. and All the important links for LG.
I'd like to say how sorry I am - not just for what happened to Little One but for everyone who went through the horror of seeing his last moments. I overslept today.
I'd also like to say thank you to all of the LG staff and volunteers without whom there would be no Centre and no nest to watch, year in and year out.
Hi Claire Carter
Yes I am near Bridge of Cally & osprey hq is in same forest where EJ hatched. I have always wondered if EJ was one of my females 1st chicks. In 1997 my XL was 3 yrs old. There were 4 nests near here at that time. so cant be sure - but just maybe :)
Sorry that I have not been here much- it has been such a hectic time. My nest cam failed due weather damage to solar charger so it has been long days & nights on nestwatch with just a couple of helpers.
Updates are here .....

i honestly couldn't give a rats ass about the fate of these 2 remaining now
Thanks for the vid, Moffer. Even though it was tough viewing, I somehow felt duty bound to watch that.
RIP Bravery.
