Hi all: Here's to a problem-free week on the site. Check out the last week's final page or so for updates from everyone, including one from Maureen (HillaryH) who's back with us after a hospital stay due to a chest infection and wants directions to Google Earth. Maureen - assume you downloaded GE before? If not, just go to http://earth.google.com/ and click on the Download Google Earth 5 button at right. I can't remember right now how to load Rothes and Mallachie's route; perhaps someone else will let you know if you need additional info. Glad you're back!
Alan posted a hummingbird link (http://vimeo.com/hummingbirds#8409299) for those who missed it and the week's chat ended with a long post from OG, who'd been composing it for days but was unable to get it on the site due to the techy problems! And no OG, haven't attempted the printer-wireless problem yet; can only handle one techy problem at week it seems!!
Have a nice Sunday all. Let's see if this posts
TOWER OF LONDON Believr the legend says that if the ravens leave the tower the Monarchy and the Kingdom will fall
dibnlib think these people eventually got out yesterday but they had a right old party for the 3 days. I think I caught a bit on the news where the landlord is now thinking of selling the pub.
Margobird
Margobird - sorry to hear your cough is still persisting - I know what you mean about coughing the moment your head hits the pillow! Fortunately for me, mine didn't last too long.
For anyone who is interested in the story about the people trapped in the Tan Hill Inn over New Year this link is from our local tv station and has a video clip http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/8438314.stm

Great capture Auntie! I was so disappointed to miss this visitor as I had been watching the cam on and off before and after. Thank you! :)

dibnlib, you are right. If the ravens leave the (white) Tower, the Monarchy and the Kingdom will fall. Thanks to you and DjoanS for the update on the Yorkshire pub story. That was a 'New Year' they won't forget in a hurry. Still don't know what happened to OG's lady though.
I have been out shopping and stocked up with food before the heavy snow arrives tomorrow afternoon and gets worse as the week progresses. Now, hopefully, the forecast will be wrong. Now off to refill bird feeders.
Margobird, sorry to hear you are still not 100%. Our neighbour was left with a cough, which turned out to be a chest infection. He has needed antibiotics, so don't neglect yourself if you think it is going on too long.
Good Morning Day Everybody!
Sunny but C-O-L-D here in Chicago at 10f/-12c with wind chills -4f/-20c. Attended a nice NYE celebration at some friend's home and stayed out until 3 a.m. so we recovered all NY day. Tried to get on here a few times wih the site going up, down, all around just like a see-saw, so am glad we're all back together again.
Reading one of the books I got John for Xmas as he's currently reading something else, book is "Led Zeppelin, When Giants Walked the Earth by Mick Wall." Very interesting stuff; never knew much about the band other than their music so am enjoying it alot. Except for the parts about Crowley and Boleskine House, that is and the goings on there while Jimmy Page first owned it and then kept hearing things go bumpty-bump in the night in my own home. Anyone else who is/was a Zeppelin fan should definitely check this book out.
Can't believe the reports of snow you folks over yonder have had! I'm hoping it won't last for very long and you all will be safe and warm too.
Ciao for now and Happy Moonday!
Afternoon all,
Completed shopping mission successfully and managed to take down all the outside lights and take the Thunderdog for a walk so been quite busy today.
Phoebe the hummingbird now has 2 eggs to incubate. I have just been told incubation is 2 weeks.

MARGOBIRD Glad to hear that your wood pigeon survived. It is so upsetting when they fly into our windows. Like you I am trying to keep our garden birds fed and watered, even going out into the garden is treacherous underfoot and the snow came down once again late afternoon.
