Hi everyone.
Welcome to the final weekly chat of 2009. Remember to check out the last few posts of last week's chat for the latest posts.
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Been failing to get on here this morning, but now find we’re up and running again.
Annette – I always think that pictures should be hung at eyelevel – taken me 40 years to persuade OH, but I am sure no artist would appreciate people having to crane their necks to see his work – except maybe Michelangelo!!
AQ – laughed at first, but maybe the wandering dog was suffering from amnesia, not recognising his owners!
DjoanS – believe weather is bad your way – read police reported roads as “horrendous”. Take care.
Chloe – yep! That’s what we saw too. Thanks for pic.
Special bulletin for TerryM: OH came back from Tesco with six bars of Caramac for me!!
Three short snow showers here today – no significant depth, but enough to go icy! Son is watching video of Jools Holland from last night and picking and/or strumming his own accompaniment – this is why I have taken refuge in the study! I like to hear him play - when I know he knows what he is playing!!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Thanks Alan; it's lit up at night too. Gray and cool here today.
Hi everyone.A very Happy New Year to all.AQ: Glad your enjoying cooler weather. Although where I come from 31C is like a heat wave. ;-)DjoanS: Nice picture. That's a great looking snow scene.ChloeB: Fantastic full-moon picture.OG: Hope you enjoy the caramac. I'm so tempted to track down a bar or two, when I'm next out.Alan: Thanks for posting the German storks webcam link. Here's to a great 2010 everyone.
OG, great job on the Caramac. Hope you still like it.
Yes, the site is still intermitent, bit of a pain.
Quiet day here, bright now after a couple of inches of snow yesterday but some has mealted already
Alan - thanks for link to Storks' nest in Höchstadt - is that special illumination on the nest, or just the town lighting?
Happy New Year, now we've all reached it!
Intermittent links with this site today - popped in earlier but unable to raise it half an hour ago. V. cold here, & it tried but failed to snow properly this morning. Went for a walk in the frosty fields with Husband & Dog, both of us wearing hats & 2 scarves, but Dog quite happily trotting in his permanent fur coat.
Thanks to Chloe for the lovely moon pic.
Alan; Havn't seen the new Star Trek yet, but enjoyed the 1st 2 series of Heroes, but not the recent episodes. What lovely storks, they have a great view don't they. I found a good story about storks today on the BBC site, see : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8436864.stm
for news about a German stork!! coincidentally!
Thanks Lindybird for the nice story about the German stork. Quite a coincidence I agree.
O.G. I think it is just the towns lighting. There certainly seems a lot of light pollution there. I tried to find out from the site by translating some of the info but I could not find anything about the nest illumination..
Looks like a really cold night here. Down to -2.8c already.
Thanks for everyones' feedback, glad you liked the moon pic :)

Re the stork cam lighting. It seems to me the birds are lit from above; could be wrong, but... Nice lazy-ish day here. Don't like to take too long to post in case the site goes down again!
