Hi everyone.
Welcome to the final weekly chat of 2009. Remember to check out the last few posts of last week's chat for the latest posts.
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Wow! Thanks TerryM ... great to watch those elephants having fun in the water!

So, they haven't stopped making Caramac - all round to Terry's local petrol station then!!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good morning. 35 C expected today. I have enough food, so I shall stay home. Shops back to normal. They were closed Fri & Boxing Day, open Sun, closed yesterday for SA's Proclamation Day. Much anguish from would-be shoppers who can't wait to spend, spend, spend. Big shops annoyed at yesterday's interruption to the post-Xmas sales. I don't know about others but I have a limited amount of money and even if shops were open non-stop, I still wouldn't spend any more. Anyway I hate crowds and avoid sales.
DjoanS - sorry to hear you are not well. Annette - re boozy grandma - usually they portray g-ms as white-haired tottery old ladies. And I'm not. Well, not white-haired anyway. LOL Alan - Currently our ABC TV (no commercials, only their own promotions <sigh>) is showing on Sat nights The Bill, followed by Taggart, then Rebus. I still prefer to read rather than watch TV. Alas authors don't write books as fast as I read!!!!
Thanks for that alert to the elephants' pool party - what a privilege to be able to watch them interacting and (dare I say it) apparently enjoying themselves!
Alan – I usually get all my geraniums in for winter, then have a sort out in spring, but this year with the wet-room men in we got well behind with tidying – OH put them inside, but possibly too late. In a way, I would be glad to start off new, but it would be nice to salvage something, as these (or their parents for cuttings) have been around many years.
Caerann – pleased most of you enjoyed the film – it sounds like it has cheered you up a bit – I hope John is also improving.
DjoanS – sorry you are also feeling grotty – hope it doesn’t last too long – keep warm and drink plenty.
Lindybird – pleased your son helped empty the fridge of leftovers. My teeth don’t do nuts these days!
AQ – good morning to you – enjoy your stay-at-home day. I’m off to bed now!
Did you notice that bird (heron?) at Pete’s Pond? It stayed around the elephants, only moved when it had to, and when they left, it flew after them to make sure they were really going, and then came back to its rock by the bank.
This post is for the Brits living in the U.S. and anyone looking for Caramac bars. There is a company called "British Delights", and they sell all kinds of UK food products in the United States. On the page below, you can buy Caramac bars and Kit Kat Dark Chocolate bars (the U.K version, not the Canadian version). I don't know anything about the company. Their home page says: "Give us a try for all your British Food Expat needs."

Oh I have not eaten a Caramac bar in a very long time. However they were a bit different from all other chocolate.

Hi everyone.Loads and loads of great posts and info since I last logged in. Great stuff about detectives. Must read some P.D James novels (note to self). Rebus is a great series and the books are a brilliant read. Another detective series that'll be familier to anyone to anyone one familiar with Glasgow and surrouding areas is Taggart. As for biscuits and cheese. Any half decent cheese on a digestive is not to be missed. Even a simple chedder will do the job.Emma Peel: A belated Christmas wishes to you.OG: Caramac wasn't a confectionary I ate very often, so I developed a great appreciation for it. Get to Terry's Petrol Station!Don't think Caramac was (is) a technically a chocolate.Don't think I'll be able to get through and reply to all the posts, so I'll just wish a very belated happy Monday and happy Tuesday to everyone.Stay safe all.Paul
awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Diane, THANK YOU, going to check out that site. I love caramac and don't live near enough to Terry's Petrol station so that may work for me!!
Evening all: Finallly managed to get to the gym today, which was pretty quiet. Cloudy again this evening.
AQ: I hate shopping most of the time, but like poking around in discount stores on quiet days. I'm only tottery when I'm in boozy mode (just kidding). Those grandma stereotypes need updating! I have the same problem with authors - they're way too slow!! :-) OG; Some of those elephants seemed to be pretty playful, especially two or three that were well submerged. Didn't notice the bird at Pete's Pond. Diane: Mmmmm; I'll keep that link on hand for when I'm desperate for candy with an English accent. Thanks! Heard an NPR review of the Louisa May Alcott documentary on American Masters tonight; sounds very interesting. Currently watching a program on the New Deal's Historical Unit photographers. Heron: Taggart mention noted - thanks. I'm obviously going to have to try cheese on a digestive. Incidentally, I bought LU chocolate digestives instead of the McVities this time and they were really good. Which reminds me, there's a piece of apple pie lurking in the kitchen.....
