Hi folks: Don't forget to check the last pages of the previous chat for links, comments, and all the usual twaddle. :-)
There, one heavy snow shower and it's all clear across to Criffel now. Someone just came in and said the snowflakes were the size of halfcrowns, which most of you will remember.
OH just phoned. Apparently he has to spend the afternoon baling out from the septic tank by hand because it's too cold for the pump to work. We got the small pump after the floods because (I think) the water table must have got so high that the soakaway isn't soaking away. Now I suppose the ground is frozen. We think we might have to dig the field up and find the drainage channels (not sure how it works).

Afternoon all. TerryM, hope the uphill on your way home is not too slippy, I have a silly mental picture of you trying to go home: one step forward two back... sorry;)
Diane, could you please send some of that choc-cookie smell here? And what a clever cat!
Gary, laughed about your haircut. I get the same from my mum sometimes. When I was younger I had very long hair, but I like to keep it short nowadays. And a little while ago my mum showed me a photo back from 80s and slightly sighing said: " and you used to have hair back then" LOL My hair grows way too fast so I have to get it done every four weeks (my hairdresser doesn`t complain...) so for a week it is quite short (not a man short though)
I think the house-elves have vanished globally, there hasn`t been any doing the cleaning here either

CAERANN Bonked certainly has a different meaning here. I smiled when i saw how you had used it.
OG sorry about your allergic reaction I had to undergo very invasive dental surgery (implants) some years ago and had to take 2 lots of medication beforehand. I arrived at the dentist tingling hands feet and neck and red and swollen apart from my face. When i asked if he would go ahead, he really wasn't sure. I was in a state of collapse. He asked advice of a consultant friend who said if my throat hadn/ closed I should be OK. After the op 4 hours later implants were complete and I was back to norm.
AUNTIE the word is ploughed, your English is excellent.
HERON. I can never bothered to change out of my expensive Nordica slipper booties when I go out to feed the birds so it doesn't take long for them to look a bit jaded especially when as now we have 6 inches of snow!!!!
GARY my OHs hair couldn't be shorter and it doesn't save money as he has it cut every 3 weeks but is it vanity as it hides the grey!!!
And compliments to our marvellous postie who delivered a card today with no no and an address that was only vaguely like ours. Our unusual surname might have helped but must look out for him tomorrow with a larger Xmas bonus. They get slagged off only to often but ours deserves a medal.
Hi, dibnlib, thanks. What a nice postie you have!
Just back from a nice walk in the snow with Lady P and Hamish. Managed to deliver all the neighbours cards and cleared some snow from our driveway.
Sue C : Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and I hope that you enjoy your holiday.
Earlier I watched Animal 24:7 which contained footage of the Glaslyn ospreys in 2007. It is of particular interest to me as I was at Glaslyn in 2007 just 2 hours after the 2nd chick was born and saw the male bring in the first fish to feed the new chick. I am not sure if it is on BBC iplayer but if it is it is well worth watching.
This robin was in the garden earlier today. I have been trying to get a photo of it for ages
Auntie, funny about mum's and hair! Mine is the same but unusual for OH to comment like that.
Dibnlib, your OH doesn't have any grey, just salt and pepper colour, like me!! LOL
TerryM I confess I can't remember half crowns. That septic tank issue sounds grim, my sympathies to you OH, not a pleasent task. Hope you don't have to have the system dug up as that can turn out a big and expensive job.
Still chilly today, had some oil delivered and gave a xmas tip to the guy as they do a good job, just like your postie Dibnlib:)
I will be working the Christmas Eve and then go to my sister`s the 25th, so If I don`t have time to pop in tomorrow I want to wish VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS to each and everyone!
Merry christmas to you as well Auntie. Hope you have a lovely time
