I guess that Blue XD is now set to be part of Loch Garten History. He deserves a page by himself.
Do people have data on his exact arrival time and some videos and pictures.
There has been a blog regarding him here on 28 Mar 2012 5:56 PM
There is still confusion as to his identity but he is said to be the long term partner of Green J or otherwise known as S06
So Blue/White XD may be S18 but there are certain problems with that.
S06 and S18 also parented a chick translocated to Rutland viz. T04
I wrote about Green J here on 3 March 2012

I don't want to see him at LG either! Hope Odin gets a wriggle on and comes home quickly this year!
Odin is more than capable of seeing off Blue XD - he certainly proved that last year.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
What ospreys do is what ospereys do whether they intrude at other nests or not and whether we like it or not like it - This is their natural instinct.
If Blue XD turns up before his mate I am sure he will visit the LG nest and should EJ be there on her own then am sure we will get a repeat of the past two years.
I would not hope for anything different as we can not train ospreys like a circus act - they are wild raptors and will do whatever wild raptors need to do.
However there are many scenarios involved - EJ returning - Blue XD returning and involvement and timing of Green J and Odin should they return.
Another scenario if Odin never returned would Blue XD stay with EJ (Green J return or no return) now that would be interesting.
CLARE - Absolutely "Odin is more than capable of seeing off Blue XD if needs arise"
Tiger, I hope something on Blue XD and Green J and I am not sure we will find out about Blue XD's return but do expect him back at LG. We cannot guarantee any EJ, Odin, Lady, Blue XD and Green J. Nothing reported on tracking of Blue XD and Green J so we will have to wait. Hope they are all ok.
Maureen H, you are right we cannot guarantee any birds return, but we hope they do.
MAUREEN H - It was posted on HFW that Blue XD was satellite tracked along with Yellow HA and that was the end of this - no further information.
I do not recall seeing any reference on HFW that Green J was satellite tracked - however a few posters on LG Ospreys appear to have information that she was. (Not sure where they got this information from unless possibly they were involved in the sponsorship of this particular bird).
It may be that these forums may give us notice of either Blue XD/Green J return if they do return - but as you point out we can not guarantee any bird returning whether aged 24 as in the case of Green J or 03/08 failing to return in her fifth year.
I hope to visit the site of Blue XD/Green J early into the season and if these birds have returned they should easily be spotted with aerials fitted although we may capture Blue XD on LG web cam first.
Here is a picture of Blue XD on August 4th 2013. He is clearly wearing a transmitter.

This page shows how the news of the tracking of Green J became public; she was seen in Staffordshire on her way south, and Roy Dennis confirmed her identity to the blogger who had seen her.
I would be interested to know why you believe that some Forum members are more "in the know" than yourself about the tracking of Blue XD/Yellow HA/Green J. This is an idea you have raised several times now.
Tiger - I am aware that Blue XD has a transmitter - I was referring to Green J carrying a transmitter - as there was no reference to this on HFW how did posters on this forum come to the conclusion and evidentary evidence that green J is in fact carrying a transmitter unless involved in some form.
Here is the only reference to the tracking of Green J that I am aware of.
