See that Annette has been too busy perhaps, to start a new week, so I'm doing the honours. Rather wet in this part of the world this morning, so doing lots of tidying & Christmas preparing stuff.
Here is Nancy enjoying the small amount of snow we had here last night:)
Auntie : Sorry about the tinsel. It was my grammar that was at fault. Tinsel for the indoor tree and primroses for the outdoor garden.
FAB
Gary : Great shot taken in the snow. Snow is great when it first falls but after that it is just an incovenience especially when it turns to slush.
OG : Just saw a Coati on the Ecuador site. It walked along the pole above the water dish. Some fantastic birds. The colours and sounds are great.
Thanks Alan. It will be slushy later as it will be above freezing today and the ground isn't frozen so may be muddy as well.
Thanks for the new webcam to follow.
Oh dear, oh dear. falling asleep on the job here - literally. Lindybird: Thanks so much for starting the new thread; thing is, I was up until midnight and kept thinking "I should start the new thread" then went off to bed. And welcome to Ev too!
Auntie: Hope the party was fun.
OG: But are they free-range vegetarian haggi? :-) Good luck with the construction (again)!
Gary: Thanks for asking the Finland question - I didn't know either! Nancy is the companion horse, right? Lovely shot
Alan: Sounds like a lovely outing, especially with sherry and mince pies - and yummy carrot cake. I used to do all my impulse buying at Nordstroms (clothes store); then when I bought my Long Beach house; did it all in the local nurseries (garden centers); then took some landscaping classes and learned I was suffering from "one of each-itis," apparently a serious impediment to "good" garden design. We have a very nice and large nursery (with impeccably labeled plants - thank heaven) up our road (a half-mile beyond those liquidamber trees) and it's a lovely to place to walk to and potter around in. Thanks for squirrel info re the hummingbirds and the fab new webcam - in a totally different part of the world too.
dibnlib: Sounds like a two-hanky Nat. Geo program.
Definitely putting lights up today; was going to gym, but that's second on the list. Have a nice evening; will check back later.
Afternoon all
Been busy yesterday & today doing Christmas things, but most of it is sorted now. I'm going away for a few days on Wednesday so I have to be more organised than usual! Will do the lights & tree etc next weekend.
Alan - wonderful link to the rain forest webcam - thanks!
Been a really cold day here with rain on & off.
Auntie - hope the party went well.
Love all the haggis chat - very entertaining :)) ... and everyone elses chat and pics!
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

GARY lovely photo of Nancy, but where was Clover?
Now have the Ecuador site as a favourite (thanks Alan). Had to check what a Coati was, to find out what to look for, so here is hoping and it would be good to see a Toucan as well!!!
dibnlib: "Toucans in their nest agree, Guinness is good for you. Take one home and you can see what one or Toucan [or maybe "two can"] do!" I'm probably seriously dating myself remembering that ad!
'Fraid so, Annette !!!!
Gary, just love the photograph of Nancy in the snow. She looks as if she is posing for you.
Alan, thanks for the link. Trouble is, once I start watching I find it hard to stop. Some beautiful birds to see. I am now trying to identify some. Haven't caught sight of the coati yet.
