This Topic has been set up to follow the Spring 2012 migration, and summer activities, of satellite tracked ospreys, excluding Rothes and Tore from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread.
It replaces this earlier thread, Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2011 - Feb 2012.
Ty patily - I started to doubt myself as soon as I posted, thats why I went back in with the edit.

You probably just can make out Beatrice Ring - Green 5B on her left leg.
This was captured when she was on 2008 migration and had a wee visit into Manton Bay - Rutland on her way.

Tiger - Brilliant!
I am working on an update of the ring ID spreadsheet and will issue it shortly - just in case any of this year's juveniles from the "public" nests are seen on migration.
Also, do we want to restart this thread, which we normally do for each migration? I can do that, but will need some help from Alan P. re the overseas projects, which I admit I haven't been following so closely.
Thanks folks - someone else's Osprey then!
Updates for Piret and Erika on the Estonian birdmap. This is the sixth year following Erika and unfortunately her transmitter is worn and giving intermittent data so no update for her on the map although she has left on migration. THere will be 3 more ospreys to be added from the Estlat project once they leave the nest areas:
birdmap.5dvision.ee/index.php
SueC : There are only 2 European projects that I am aware of that have ospreys with working transmitters.
ESTLAT is the main one with Piret and 3 other ospreys yet to be named. These can be found on the Migration map on the Estonian website.
Erika is also on the migration map but her transmitter appears to be failing after 6 years.
There is also 1 Swedish osprey we can follow and that is 57375.
I have been checking the Finnish website but since the demise of Jukka there does not appear to be any more ospreys that have been tagged.
Rob Bierregaard will be as before and I have not checked the Canadian ospreys yet. The Grand Teton project appears to have finished.
Alan: It is a good idea to do a 'sweep up' of our combined knowledge on European tracking projects. Taking France as an example, I am in the process of trying to find any current/new projects or ones that are still transmitting, but not being actively monitored. Do you remembet Tom from the Orleans Forest, I am not sure what happened to him. On this webpage look at the foot there is a reference to him, but the link is out of use.

Tom is featured and pictured on this Wildlife Tracking page, which covers a period up to 2009.

Tom is also mentioned in the Jan 2011 school exercise at the College William of Lorris, the forest of Lorris is part of the Forest of Orleans.
