HI all: Thought I'd give Diane and AQ a rest this week. Will be back to catch up later.
Afternoon all,
AQ : Thanks for the pic of the dove sheltering on your verandah.
Annette : I see you have lots of finches. They look like a combination of our chaffinch, goldfinch and greenfinch.
Dibnlib : Sorry to hear about your uncle.
Trish : Lady P is still waiting for the letter from the hospital to get back to her GP. She hopes to hear some news tomorrow when she goes to her Asthma clinic.
Nightowl : I hope that you are feeling better today.
Margo : I am not surprised that Billie does not want to go out as it is a shocker of a day.
Lynette : Thanks for the pics from all the nests. Phoebes chicks are really big now.
Sandra : I see that Jewels cubs have been named Herb and Fern.
Thanks to everyone else for the chat etc.
Managed to take Hamish out for his walk just as the rain was starting this morning at 08:00. Since then it has not stopped. We went out for an hour this morning but it was so miserable we soon decided we were better off at home. Probably spend the afternoon watching footie on the tele as Lady P has gone to visit her sister who lives not too far away.
Peregrine news:
Aria & Vento now have 2 eggs as do the pair at Bologna.
I have just realised I have posted on the Gabfest and meant to do it here really. I am in Switzerland on a reallz weird keyboard, so bear with me. I wanted to say that I was hoping to find some news of Diane and June following the tornados in the US. I saw/heard the terrible news on CNN whilst overnighting at Chur, but where we are now we do not have the luxury of English speaking TV at all. So it was with great relief I see that both Diane and June have posted news. Do take care both of you. I will catch up when I get home.

There is a new blog.

Thanks Alan.
They are nice names for the cubs :-)
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
OH didn't need any persuading so we have had lunch in a local restaurant. We bith just had the roast beef, with roast potatoes and veg. A typical Sunday roast.
Margo, It has been steady rain here all day but it is now going much darker so I presume the very heavy rain is due to start. I guess Billie must have a litter tray or a bloomin good bladder if she has still not been out. :-) Can't blame her for not wanting to go out though.
Alan, Thanks for the peregrine egg updates and the bear cub names. It saves me having to look now.
Nicely awake now, after some fresh air - even got the study window open beside me! Washing up wasn’t too awful – OH washed and I dried – only kitchen stuff as tableware was all in dishwasher. Had a nice sit-down, going through stuff from yesterday – putting some further events dates in our diaries and filing other bits of paper! J went to recruitment day at big hotel – but they never said what they were looking for, and he felt quite unwell, so didn’t stay long. He was home for some Butternut Squash and Red Pepper Soup and seems recovered now – he’s playing this evening, so practice at 5pm. I’ve been tidying greenhouse plants (again), set my begonias in pots to start sprouting, and planted some cuttings from Fuchsias and Geraniums over-wintered in there. OH has started a big project to improve the garden path from back door via Greenhouse to shed. Coffee now, and then will get hosed down before early tea (chicken wrap), then to church – J eats after service, but I don’t like late meals.
Had a message from Sheila on hols in Switzerland – everything good so far, nice weather past two days although some wet snow today. She declined her OH’s offer of a passenger ride on a Bobsleigh! (I wonder why?). She was relieved to see that Diane and June are okay. … Ah, I see she has also posted above.
Sorry about rain in various parts today – but maybe some parts which needed it - a few drops while I was outside, but day turned out mostly bright and sunny.
Brenda – I’m fully recovered from yesterday out – I think the standing had probably done more harm than the walking. There was one particular woman “manning” (personning?) a stand who insisted on talking a lot, and I just had to tell her I need to keep moving! Pleased you got lunch out after your busy gardening week and now dreich weather!
Off to read Blog update and then shower.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Brilliant rugby match between France and Ireland 17-17. Obviously I don't support either team but I do appreciate seeing a good match.
A lovely fresh day here in Inverness - temp hovering about 5 degrees and probably another cold night to come. OH has been outside in his garage aka workshop (no room for the car!) making another nesting box. He has quite a few of them around the garden hanging in various trees. The garden birds are busy pairing up and looking for nesting places. I think that OH has also planted a some seeds for early carrots, under glass.
Glad, OG that you are recovered from your long day yesterday.
dibnlib - I'm very sorry to hear about your Uncle.
Brenda - I always enjoy a meal that someone else has cooked!
Margo - Keep warm!
Everyone that I haven't mentioned - thank you for posts etc. I still wonder about Auntie, she vanished very suddenly.
Heather, I don't know if anyone else has been in contact with Auntie but I have just written a PM to her. I have been thinking about her too. Hopefully she will reply. She last posted on here in November.
Brenda - Let us hope that Auntie will reply. I didn't realise that it was November when we last heard.
