Evening/morning!. Hope it's a good week for all. Check the previous blog for the latest adventures of Emma Peel and Steed plus recent posts from the usual suspects. :-)
Emma - what a whirl! Hope daughter's new boyfriend isn't headed back to Afghanistan any time soon.
EDIT: Oh this is interesting, in the following sentence, I typed the name of Germany's controlling political party during the late 30s/early 40s and it was replaced by asterisks! Just watched a great Netflix DVD - The Rape of Europa - about the pillaging of art by the *** and the subsequent repatriation of (most of) it after the war. Really interesting with footage I'd never seen before. After that, even more leftover Txgiving pie and rerun of Bridget Joans's Diary on telly while perusing latest Xmas catalogs. Have a good Sunday!
morning all. Nice and sunny here to start the day.
Caerann, I saw the forecast was cold for you. It have very mild here yesterday but cooling off now. Still, you guys are used to extreme weather and cold there? I didn't see the proramme you mentioned but will have a look at the link.
Very interesting about seeing music on colours. I have no musical ability but facinated to think you can see that in colours.
Alan, what a good general you are , sending troops into the front line while you hang back!! LOL
AQ, hope you find the room! I have to agree with Auntie, we are simple creatures:) !!
Morning DjoanS
Gary, but where will we be without men ;) And BTW I myself love fairytales and games etc young-people-stuff!

There is a bird in that Swedish cam, buzzard or goshawk?
Thanks Auntie but unfortunately I missed it. Earlier on there was an eagle there. Just waiting for daylight on the Hummingbird cam. I wonder if they will fledge today.
Took Hamish out for his afternoon walk and it really is a lovely day for December. Even saw a buff tailed bumble bee on the Hebe in the garden. Still have winter jasmine, hebe, pansies, cyclamen, primroses and some geraniums flowering at the moment.
I have a car cleaning mission to accomplish now so will be back later.
FAB

I like to think we have some purpose Auntie:))
Happy Vrijdag (Friday)
Cold here today, -4c with wind chills at -9c with a dusting of snow on the ground. Actually Gary, I do have trouble with bitter cold and if there's alot of snow, but otherwise winter is just another season leading to a better season. =O)
I wonder if someone from our group is over on the Hummer site? The person said they are from the U.K. and usually watches Ospreys so that made me think of our group. I logged off there with birds being mostly quiet at the moment so I found myself watching the chat more than the birds.
Anyway, I'm gonna make like a banana and split for now so have a good day/night, all.
Back later. =O)
Oh brilliant. Just typed a longish response to various folk and then closed the window without hitting Post - although I swear I did. Hmmm. Another of life's mysteries. None of it was compelling, but did enjoy all the comments. Anyway, will be gone much of the day so will probably miss any fledging hummingbirds. Everyone is waaaay ahead in their Christmas stuff; I think it'll be a low-key holiday here. Sunny and coolish today - highs in the low 60s and lows in the mid-40s. Sky is filled with contrails of northbound jets - funny to think of all those people and their various lives whizzing past over my head. Will catch up later; stay warm and safe everyone.
Interesting visit by Mrs. Hummingbird - seemed like she was buzzing the nest; probably nowhere to land. Maybe it's a "time you kids moved out!' tactic...
Annette : I saw that with the hummingbird mum. Awesome speed flitting in and out. Wings are just a blur.
