Evening/morning!. Hope it's a good week for all. Check the previous blog for the latest adventures of Emma Peel and Steed plus recent posts from the usual suspects. :-)
Emma - what a whirl! Hope daughter's new boyfriend isn't headed back to Afghanistan any time soon.
EDIT: Oh this is interesting, in the following sentence, I typed the name of Germany's controlling political party during the late 30s/early 40s and it was replaced by asterisks! Just watched a great Netflix DVD - The Rape of Europa - about the pillaging of art by the *** and the subsequent repatriation of (most of) it after the war. Really interesting with footage I'd never seen before. After that, even more leftover Txgiving pie and rerun of Bridget Joans's Diary on telly while perusing latest Xmas catalogs. Have a good Sunday!
Annette : Lovely picture of a Camellia. We cant grow them here as soil is not acid enough.
Those hummers look good to go any time soon. From one extreme to the other. Ospreys to Hummingbirds.
FAB
Alan: Congrats to Dundee going top of the league!
Congrats to Dundee:)
Lindybird, you must be running short of descriptions for your place LOL
Thanks for the photo Annette.
No Caerann yet, must be taking her days to catch up on the chat:)
Evening everyone: Watched a report on the years-long drought in SE Australia's Murray-Darling basin; sad for folks who've been trying to adapt but who may still lose their livelihood.
Congrats to Dundee (hope it's not too late)!
Alan: Yes, those hummingbirds are sitting on top of the nest, not in it anymore. Was a fairly noisy day in their neighborhood today, sounded like someone was doing some home improvement projects... Camellias do fairly well here once they're established. They like shade and usually do well on our normal rainfall with two or three deep waterings during the dry season.
Hope everyone is okay.
Hi Everyone!
I meant to post sooner but life got in the way on Monday and Tuesday. We enjoyed a wonderful holiday excursion which went by much too quickly. I was treated to a surprise of finding 5 Wild Turkey feathers on an after dinner hike and we saw many Bald Eagles as we drove down Highway 61 along the Mississippi River which is a an absolutely lovely drive to take, even without leaves on the trees.
I still have many posts to read but wanted to say hello to all and wish Gary a belated birthday. I'll also leave you with a wonderful 20 second video I found. It takes a wee bit of time to load but trust me, it's well worth the wait.

Morning all and nice to see you, Caerann!
Been watching a feedingcam in Sweden. There has been one goshawk stuffing itself on a pig carcass. It ate probably over half an hour, so I started to fear that it will be too full to fly, but it just flew away. The scenery is beautiful, tiny frost and as the sun was coming up it made the frost pink, very pretty indeed. Have a good day everyone, I am having a day off and decided that I will do absolutely nothing.

Here is the address to that Swedish camera

Another enjoyable link Caerann thanks so much.
Thanks Annette for the picture of the camellia. The colour is beautiful and has really brightened up a very dull day.
