Caerann: In answer to your question to me, I used to have all of the Foxfire books. They are truly wonderful, and I highly recommend them! During my moves over the years, mine have disappeared, unfortunately. I was just thinking the other day about trying to get some of them from the local library to read again!

OG: Sorry I forgot to respond to yesterday's question about a photo of our cat; I put one on the chat page a couple of weeks ago but will add one to my page in the next day or so. She's white (when she's not rolling the dirt) and fat.
Alan: Thanks for additional info and lovely pix of Portmeirion; I was reading a bit about it yesterday. Interesting concept. Looks like a pleasant place to visit.
Auntie: Thought the translation "two dusks facing each other" was brilliant - caught the feeling of a November day in Finland very well. A couple of times a day I check out the Hailuoto ferry cam. You never see anyone and it's usually dark; the other night - around midnight your time, they offloaded a truck that seemed to be carrying a little house! I have to check it out very late our time or very, very early in the mornings to see anything other than lights and the ocean lit by the ship's lamps. Must visit it on Google Earth to get a better idea of the land.
Off to finish rest of garden, then out with hubby to investigate sofas, etc.
I was an osprey too - thought from my answere (and I tried to be honest) I might be a sparrowhawk!
Just managed to get on this Forum by a roundabout route,as the Server is apparently playing up, & wouldn't let me in.
Damp here today, but ignored it nicely by having a Shopping for Christmas Mission with (female) friend, had a good time as got most of things on my list, but spent a lot less than extravagent friend,so just watched her choosing & spending! A pleasant trip with a relaxing cuppa half way, & shared a naughty slice of cake together, so were only half bad girls each!
Annette: Typical cat behaviour, only do it on the newest carpet or where its least convenient.... Have been to Portmerion several times, in sunshine & in rain. Its very pretty, and most of the buildings are either transported from other places in Britain or Italy, or are faux frontages with very ordinary houses built behind them, however the effect is quite unique and different from anywhere else. People really live in the houses & flats, and the Hotel down near the estuary is a real working premises: we know someone who had their wedding there, which must have been quite special. Husband thoroughly disapproves of there having been a new 'Prisoner' series made, as of course it can't be as good, can it??! I have several pieces of Portmerion Pottery and a couple of teapots which were my mother's- keep saying I'll get some more & have enough for a proper set for lunch etc.
Done the Quiz - another Bald Eagle here! Sounds quite aggressive to me, so I'm surprised as I'm not a violent type. Probably because I like blue/grey rather than say brown or red. I love fish, too!

I'm a bald eagle too. I did it twice, chose brown then green, and got the same answer!
Alan - I think the carcass-cam is the best one on the newforest gateway. Just wish I could pause it when something's there rather than half a second later... Great shots of Portmeirion. I too have several plates, as well as my mother's dinner service (which I have never used).
Gary - sorry, been busy so missed looking in yesterday, have you found the tearooms? Lovely sunset and cloud pics aren't they?

Alan, the buzzard video is well worth watching and the close ups are fantastic. I will watch some others later.
Lindybird, I agree with your husband. Patrick McGoohan is The Prisoner for me and I would find it very hard to watch any other actor play the part. I was rather shocked to find that the original series was televised in1967/68.
