Hallo folks. Not much action yesterday afternoon on last week's chat, though SueC quoted a poem by the Wolof fishermen of Senegal about ospreys, which I found reassuring.
AQ: 41C - that's almost 106F! Geez Louise! Drink lots of water (I'm sure you know all that). Are these normal (early, but normal) summertime temps? It gets up to that over the hill in the Santa Ynez Valley, but it's fairly rare, even at the height of summer.
Daughter and dog just departed; dog discovered new places to poop in our garden. Cat has now decided it's safe to come out of hiding (under our bed) and is - oh joy - rolling around in a giant dirt patch, apparently with the expectation of being allowed back in the house (with new carpeting yet). This is where we have to tackle her and give her a good rub down. Too bad she hates the vacuum cleaner.... :-)
7.38 AM there are three members on line at present and I am only on because I cannot switch my sick computer off for fear of losing it, but there are 659 'guests'? No bad thing really, but there must be a lot of interest out there!

Bright and breezy Tuesday morning after a horrendous wet evening Monday - returning from National Trust event in Dumfries the lorry spray was quite nasty - this is the A75 "Euroroute" to Ireland via Stanraer - I call it our "missing motorway"! "They" spend a few million pounds on occasional minor treatment, where it needs billions spent on major surgery!
Rant over!!! We shall be out today - local museum talk and lunch, then out to dinner - major over-eating forecast - why do these things always come at the same time?
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Lindybird Buzz is just so gorgeous. I bet he knows it as well.

Hello Annette as you say vertical is good. Have made a start on Christmas shopping this morning and managed to stay upright.
OG, sounds a nice day planned, have fun.
JSB, thanks for the other forum. What a great website. Sorry about the sick computer.
Forecast a nice day here, dry, 10 degrees so i can cope with that (sorry AQ/Wattle)
Jsb : Thanks for that link. Lots to look at later.
Not a lot going on on TI today. Decided to cut the grass again. Dont think I have ever cut it this late before. It is so mild this week.
Weather : Dry Sunny , Temp 12.7c , Humidity 62% , Dewpoint 5.6c , Pressure 1006hPa Rising.
Morning/Day All!
I'm hearing the sound of 2 Greater Spotted Leaf Blowers outside. Our condominium association uses a "service" which is actually 1, sometimes 2 guys and they remove every speck of leaf matter from the property. Gloomy weather past 2 days with temps 45f/7c and rain, supposedly, which would be good as it now hasn't rained for over 2 weeks.
Have resolved Thanksgiving holiday problem and will be taking a slightly extended visit to Minnesota next week for 4 nights and 3 days. Sister and her family are facing tough times as well but we pulled it together so I'm really happy about that.
Loved the sunset and dog photos. Did anyone get to see the Leonid Meteor Shower this morning?
Morning all! Cat has just thrown up on new carpet; temporarily exiled to garden, where she'll probably roll in that dirt patch.
OG: I hate driving behind/beside trucks in heavy rain (not that we get much heavy rain). Sunny here and warm today; 20% chance of rain Thursday
Margobird: Always good to stay upright when shopping I find; helium balloons help but they tend to get in the way (also hard to control when in the vicinity of leafblowers). (Sorry, silly spell over.)
They've just started playing the new version of "The Prisoner" on telly here. I haven't watched it, but one critic I like says the new Patrick McGoohan character isn't as - classy? (my word, not his) '- as the original. Has anyone seen it in the UK?
Off to gym. Cat has tootled back in but declines to say whether she plans another gastric event!
Caerann: So pleased you've sorted out Txgiving!! Did not stay up for meteor shower since they told us we'd only get 20-30 an hour compared to other places in the world, which would get between 200-300 an hour.
