Hi all. Just got this started before zipping off to bluegrass concert. Check out the previous blog for nifty photos of alpacas from OG and more!
What a great photo and article Annette! And it was in a U.K. paper, how strange. Actually, this kind of thing happens with the poor Red-tails all the time, even if they're just flying by, like the Peregrine attacking the Red-tail off the cliff nest in Raptor Force. I took photos in southwest Wisconsin this summer of a much smaller bird chasing a Red-tailed and on the Palemale and Lola website last week there was a male American Kestrel photographed in attack mode on Lola. You can find his photos here:

It's amazing to think smaller birds will go after hawks, or osprey even, but they do.
Oh I love the Daily Mail story of the Kestrels sharing their nest with a Barn Owl chick! So sweet!
I'm off to bed so happy Tisdag (Tuesday) everyone!
thanks for the link Annette wonderful pictures all round.
Margobird
Lindybird I am feeling much better again today and have even done a bit of housework so feeling quite pleased with myself. Not gone mad but at least made a start.
Wonderful news again about our girls.
Good morning (Tuesday) all! Loved the Kingbird vs Red-tail Hawk link! But can't get enthusiastic about penguins standing still - guess we are spoiled with all the live video cams we have access to. Funny that, because David and Goliath was a still, but it really told a story - guess it's a good photographer who can portray movement in a still shot!
I hope Margobird is going to see the doctor today!!! And hope all who were feeling down yesterday are on the up today!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
original goldfinch what beautiful flowers. I had one in a large pot on my patio deep red in colour and really exotic looking.
I am feeling so much better today. Pain round the ribs is improving at last and I have even done a bit of housework, not a lot but at least have made a start.
Have a good day.
Recommendation: BBC Homepage has link to "Autumn Slide Show" - currently main picture top of page, but this does change duruing the day. Glorious autumn pics - poetry accompaniment, but probably best without sound!
Snowing in Estonia at the moment but there is a White Tailed Eagle around at the moment:

Thanks Alan, it must be lunchtime in Estonia at about 12.30PM. Am I correct in thinking this W T Eagle is a young one? I have not read the narrative yet.
