Looks like Simon King is going to be talking about/following Ospreys in Africa for the BBC Autumnwatch show on Friday 6th November. He has posted comments on his Twitter page about it.

Another email, this time to the BBC. BBC Prime is a subscription TV channel, which in France is available with a 'Freebox' from free.fr (an ISP), via the Canalsatellite system and possibly other similar offerings. It works by connecting the TV to the ISP via the Freebox. So when you click your remote, in a split second, the system finds the programme, either at the local telephone exchange or if it cannot get it there, it uses the main server, probably in Paris

I recognise that it is aimed at a domestic audience, but the internet is changing our habits as you will know. As far as I can see the only option for our French friends is Astra2, free to air, unless you advise otherwise? Any comments will be welcome, with thanks."

The fishing village that Simon visited to see the villagers interacting with the Ospreys, sounded like Bedante or Vedante....the nearest place that sounds a bit like that is Bijante, Ilha de Orango.
For the record, here is the exchange of e-mails I had with the BBC concerning the interests of our near neighbours in Europe and their ability/inability to view programmes on the BBC like Autumnwatch. This refers to broadcast programmes, the catch-up service of the BBC iPlayer is a different issue.

Unfortunately we won’t be showing Autumnwatch on BBC Entertainment, but you will have the opportunity to see some British factual programming on the channel in the New Year, including Coast, A Year At Kew, and Building Wonders.
