Good Morning/Night Everyone and welcome to another addition of our fun and very informative thing we do called the "chat." =O) Today, we in America turn our clocks back so it should be great fun trying to figure out what time it is where everyone else in the group is.
Posts for part of 30th and all of 31st October, plus part of 1st November can be found on pages 16-18 of the 25th October Chat. Don't miss newly posted flower and tree photos, a report on the Crane Cam from TerryM, an intriguing video link from Gary, Wattle15 checks in and traditions for the days of 31st October and 1st November from Auntie, Diane and yours truly; plus much more.
Well, I guess that's it then. Be well and safe everyone.
Diane, what a beautiful dog:)))))))))))) Great photo
Alan, Hamish is an excellent guide the the weather!
Looking forward to Simon King watching ospreys. I think Hamish will do a better job of weather forecasting than they to dat the Met Office sometimes. We were promised heavy rain last night and had none.
Margobird
Original goldfinch what magnificent photos of the geese and ducks, also the flowers. I feel a little more human today but nowhere near my best even managed to post on the wrong "update page". I am sure there is nothing cracked although over the weekend I did wonder if I had cracked a rib or ribs but it feels a little better round that area today, just a bit sore in the back. The face is looking horrendous but I usually heal fairly quickly so it should all start to look better soon.
Annette you are right about bruises taking a few day to show themselves. I have found more this morning while I was taken a shower. Hope you enjoyed Ravi shankar and his daughter.
Oh Dianne what a gorgeous, gorgeous dog. That has really made me smile which is a bit difficult at the moment with the split lip and very black eye plus all the other bruising that is now coming out. Thanks you so much.
Margobird - so glad to see you posting again ... I was a bit worried when you didn't post yesterday and then nothing today until now! I am pleased you are feeling a little better.
Weather here much better today ... yesterday was awful ... but not as bad as the pictures from Scotland and Wales.

hi again
years ago my parents had an irish setter who was terrified of thunder. my parents used to leave the door open to the garden when they went to work. unfortunately jinty used to sense when thunder was 50 miles away and would jump the fence and bolt. on one occassion she was bought back from the M8 by the police. how she lived to be 12 i will never know.
do hope that buzz does not get too upset over the next week or so
Morning all:
Margobird: Must be a relief to feel you're over the worst of it. Are your black eyes still black or upgrading to yellow yet?
Ravi Shankar was wonderful. My husband was in India in the Peace Corps in the late '60s and was the impetus behind our going - I wasn't so sure. Mr. S's daughter Anoushka got sick and didn't perform, which was a shame, but oh well... Mr S is 89 years old and when he first appeared, he seemed thin and quite frail, but as the music progressed, he seemed to shed the years, especially when the drums and flute joined in. The drummer (apparently a world-class performer from Calcutta) was quite amazing. And even though the music was so different and complex in an entirely different way from Western classical music, I really enjoyed it. He got three curtain calls and a full house, so it was a rewarding experience for all.
Diane: Is that dog yours? Who could resist him/her!
Re Hamish's weather forecasting skills, some people claim animals sense the imminent onset of earthquakes. I've missed the news the last couple of days but the flooding sounds awful. We had 24 hours or rain a couple of weeks ago and are ready for more, but none is forecast as yet by our people. Too bad Hamish's skills don't extend this far.
Everyone: Have a nice rest of the day! So today is the last daily update on our girls? But still, it's November already - less than 5 months until we can start keeping an eye out for EJ!!
New Blog. No change and it looks like weekly updates from now on.
How am I going to get used to not having a daily 'fix' on the birds? Still, for now, no news really, is good news.
Diane: What a gorgeous little dog - is she/he yours? Lovely picture.
Gary: Ate our digestives like good well behaved guests (actually, mine was a gingernut biscuit) & Dog spent rest of the visit (about 3 quarters of an hour) just sitting and gazing longingly at the plate of remaining biscuits, until I swept them away into the kitchen, before he did anything disgraceful like trying to grab one when we were not looking! He once ate half of a particularly yummy rich chocolate dessert in someone elses kitchen, from the top of the worktop, without anyone noticing until it came to be served.... 7 of us had to make do with dividing the remainder between us, and trying not to think about whether he'd licked it all......
Hope your other half's sinus problem is sorted now, not very nice.
