The French osprey they are talking about in video diary 1 is the one known as "the male" after the symbol on his orange Darvic ring.
Here Rolf Wahl gives his history (as known to man) since Rolf first ringed him in the Forest of Orleans in 2004. The story continues on this page - he was also seen on the Allahein River last December by the BBC producer who worked with Roy Dennis on the Autumnwatch films, when she returned to Gambia on holiday.
