Alan very sad to read this.

Thank You Alan - Very sad indeed at Dunedin especially as I have a big interest in FLA Ospreys - I am off to FLA for entire May and is on my itinerary to viit Dunedin whilst at Clearwater. Hopefully I will see one strong healthy chick and that is what matters now as in any nest.
Sorry to hear the sad news, do we know why the chicks have died?
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Rach : I dont know the answer to that but I suspect it was lack of food, both chicks looked on the small side to me and were not developing at the normally rapid rate. Hopefully the remaining chick will have a better chance now.
The 3rd egg did not hatch.
Thanks Alan. Yes, the surviving one should do better now.
Egg reported at Caerlaverock but the cam appears to be down.
New blog from Tweed Valley here
I have few pictures from the Lochter nest which I took last night and posted on Gabfest but have had a few requests to post a few on here (They are different ones) - the nest is progressing well with both birds fine.
I posted this one last night but it is interesting "Feeding on the Wing"
I apologise if some people may have seen some of these on Gabfest last night but am posting for all interested thread readers to view.
By the way this is a rare picture of Blue Sky we had yesterday in The Highlands of Scotland.
Wonderful photos, Keith - thanks for sharing!
