Another week folks. Just in case you missed it, AQ posted the following at 12:41 a.m. Sunday morning:
Good morning. 10.10 am. Yawn. Couldn’t get to sleep last night plus we lost an hour as daylight saving started. Tiring but such an exciting day yesterday watching Daughter#2 look at 100s and try on dozens of wedding dresses. Funny (strange funny), that she wants me involved. For my wedding I was busy fending off my mother as, being the last of the flock to marry, she had developed a set of traditions/customs that were essential. Hm, I won some, lost some. As Dau#2 has been living away from home for several years, I am quite happy to sit back and let her decide her day.
Annette. Until you learn the new appliances are you eating out of a can beside a campfire in the backyard? Or on a diet of salads? LOL
Diane. Later I shall post some photos of Pacific black ducks on the Backyard gallery. Loved the Kakapo video – thanks for the link.
Cirrus just noticed your question to Alan. Being lazy on my part if you go to BBC autumn watch/ webcams you will find the Stag video.
Good Day All!
Cirrus: Rainbow Moonstone indeed has a blue cast to it and the better quality stones are quite lovely, looking somewhat like opal. I'm posting a link to an example for you to see:

Afternoon/evening all! 5.50 pm here. The winds have setteld now and no more raining either.
Must one choose between car washing and christmas shopping? I really don`t wanna do either.... well mayby a decent amount shopping, but certainly not yet :) Must be getting ready for nightshift, oh how I dislike nightshifts. I don`t mind staying up and working, but the next couple days I`m totally usless zombie...

Oh what a wet blanket I`ve been today... sorry folks. Promise to be in a better mood next time I sign in ;)
Thank you Brend H very much. Off out to work now but will explore that at a better time.
Caerann, many thanks for the link to moonstones. I've just time for a hasty look but off out to work very very shortly so wll look longer lated.
Have a good evening everyone - I wonder if Mallachie will have moved on. Personally hope not.
Auntie : I know what it is like to work nightshifts as I did for a short time some years ago. I found I could only sleep for a couple of hours during the day. It really messes up your body clock.
Cirrus : Sorry I did not get back to you re the webcam link for the red deer rut on Rhum but I see BrendaH beat me to it.
Hi Caerran
Went to the link and It is similar to an opal (My birthstone cos I'm a scorpion!!) Lots of nice stuff. Thanks>
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
NEW BLOG!
hi cirrus
this is probably a duplicate. i spend forever typing blogs only to lose the plot when i try to send them. i watch the squirrels on the abernethy feeders but yesterday waslucky enough to see one for real when walking in culloden forest. we usually walk there twice a day but rarely see them. another favourite walk is channonery point where we sometimes see dolphins. dillon has been an only dog since fingal was put to sleep 2 1/2 years ago. he was nearly 14 and had lymphoma. we scattered his ashes at loch an eilean near LG. we are thinking of getting another in spring next year. i would like another golden retriever but we may well go to the local dogs home to see if there is a suitable dog. watch this space
Hi all:
I'd rather wash the car than go Xmas shopping.
No earthquakes here that I've noticed.
Good to hear M & R are settled for now.
Lovely cool, sunny fall weather here. We watched black-tailed deer feeding in the brush by our room this morning - they wander through the grounds and trot out from between buildings - they're so pretty and "soft." The grounds here are very pretty - some unspoiled with a vegetable garden they use for the restaurant, and lots of little nooks and crannies where you can sit and relax. My daughter is going riding this afternoon; I'm going to head for the garden with my binocs and a book! Moonstone Beach is lovely, but didn't see any moonstones and havent read anything about them in the local guide (maybe Caerann has them all!) :-)
Welcome back from NH Gary - did you see any good autumn color? We'll be back home tomorrow evening.
Have a nice evening..
