In response to the demand for an osprey chat thread I am now making one for September 2011. I guess there will be quite a bit to chat about given the success of the extension thread.

Thanks I wonder if Leri and Dulas will make as quick a journey as Einion?
Thanks very much MOFFER. Don't bet on it PATILY :)
09 is ready for Africa.
AW has made it. He's in Guinea :o)
Loch Garten stats. and All the important links for LG.
Let us hope Dulas and Leri make it to the south coast berfore the horrendous weather sets in .
Wonderful news about AW and O9 is making a very good route line indeed.
Do we know more about Joe? All we know about Ozwold is that on 7th September he was still in Scotland (oh dear- 80mph winds coming up tomorrow up there, please be south - much- of the border dear bird)
Thanks folks for the updates on the ospreys, Rutland, Dyfi, and LG (although it looks like our ospreys are still where they were yesterday)

Update from Dyfi Osprey Project
20.00 - There are currently three fish on the nest - Monty has done what he's been doing all summer, hoarding food before bad weather comes. Incredible how animals do this.
Einion's data will be completely downloaded later tonight but the provisional coordinates we have is that he has ony moved around 70 miles south of Casablanca where he was on Thursday - maybe he's filling up on fish before the desert leg of his migration. Ems
This where the birds that I have been watching are (as far as I know)
Oswold, re 6th September, still in Angus, Scotland.
Red 8T, re 8th September, Nr Newbury, England
Dulas and Leri, 10th September, still at home in Wales
Tore, re 6th September, nr Plymouth, England
Bynack, re 6th Sepember, Eastern France
Beatrice, re 6th September at her winter site in Southern Spain
Joe, re 6th September, Luna reservoir, Northern Spain
09, re 10th September, just north of Gibraltar in Southern Spain
Einion, re 10th September, south of Casablanca, Morocco
AW, re 10th september, at his winter site in Guinea. Given his speed and stamina, I think we should call him Arnie :o)
AW was going so fast, he overshot the land and ended up flying out into the Atlantic. He had to do a U turn LOL. What a magnificent Osprey to travel 3277 miles in 14 days, wow.
He's back in his winter quarters in Guinea.

~Moffer~, I am trying to catch up with the forum posts after being on holiday for over 2 weeks, so your post is invaluable to have all the birds listed like this it is so much easier to follow, so a big thank you from me for doing this. Its just so great to see how well all the Osprey's are doing on their migration, hope every one of them reaches their wintering grounds without any incidents.
