In response to the demand for an osprey chat thread I am now making one for September 2011. I guess there will be quite a bit to chat about given the success of the extension thread.

Yes, indeed LMAC
My feeling is we'll be waiting at least a couple of days for another update. But I shall check in hopefully after 7 pm each evening , in case.
I'm just hoping Bynack will choose a route over the Med when he comes to it that will give him the least amount of desert to overfly. The weather has been down right horrid for Tore . Hope she is managing to find a dry roost each night.
LMAC I just gleaned this from the Rutland site
09′s radio is transmitting on a three day duty cycle meaning by the time we receive the next batch of data he will probably be well into Spain. In the meantime I will email the guys at Organbidexka and make sure they keep an eye out for him over the next couple of days!
SO, maybe it's the same for Loch Garten and that's why the data cannot be daily.
This Osprey watching is becoming a "year round" worry instead of the 4 or 5 months that it used to be......:) The local papers here are predicted snow starting next month!! - continuing until January of next year so I hope all those birds migrating have sent off on their travels
Phooey !! LMAC. Where do you live, Iceland?
Just, groan. I am so cold as it is and I live in the south. I take it you live in Scotland?
Wigtown had Osps passing through on the 1st . Hopefully their juve JD has not emulated Tore and is now across the Channel
In the main live in Edinburgh but spend my weekends about 15 miles from LG where I am at the moment - 9 degrees today !!!!!

Rothes, Tore and Bynack, all still in the same places as before. No movements to report.
The osprey nest cameras came down yesterday - hence no pictures. The only camera now functioning is the feeder-cam switched to live-streaming to enable you to watch red squirrels, great spotted woodpeckers, chaffinches, siskins, crested tits........... Enjoy.
Loch Garten stats. and All the important links for LG.
