New Chat Thread
Hi, all. I thought that Annette might be busy with her daughter, so I decided to start the new thread for the week. Please do yourself a favor and check back to last week's thread to see OG's WONDERFUL photos and commentary from her latest holiday, as well as interesting posts from our other fascinating bloggers!
I'll be back later to catch up with everyone. It's so hot in Indiana this evening, the birds are using potholders to pull the worms out of the ground!
LOL!
Alan, the sparrow is one of our most common birds, summer & winter. Colorless it may be (Ordinary brown) but I would miss it greatly if it were not around. Just stepped outside to give the flowers at the back of my house a cooling bath in this excessive heat and saw a goldfinch flit into "a nearby tree". They are still around, just not at my feeders.
Oh, you mentioned starlings (shudder!!), but that is anoher long & unpleasant story which I won't go into here & now.
What a disaster ALAN. hope your son in law is fine after all that
Haven't been on for a day or two and I've been tied up with our Kids Week at church all week. Very tired at the end but well worth it. Great concert to end the week which was held in our Parish Church on Friday. Spent today catching up with some of the housework and chilling this afternoon and evening so have only read this page.
Alan , at least son-in-laws arm wasn't broken but still a painful ordeal with a dislocated shoulder. At least he managed not to get stung. Hope all is OK now. BTW great picture of the goldfinch. Not seen ours for quite a few days now or many birds. Mind you I haven't put extra birdfood out so thats probably the reason why.
Will get back to normal next week.
Love to all of you on our happy family blog and have a great day tomorrow.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
All ok, just not had any time today.
BiL update last night was that there is some brain damage - no news today.
Had a good day out today (brilliant weather) out again tomorrow! Will hope to do a catch up Sunday evening or Monday!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
The operation on S2 was successful and hopefully she will return to the wild.
Tiger Signature
Great news Tiger. Been looking at the pics of the procedure. S2 is very lucky to have people around willing to do all this for her.

STARTING NEW THREAD
Deleted; old thread.
ALAN loved your kingfisher and Swans and cygnets pics.
We went to Tomatin yesterday to see friends 3 x 13 week old Scandanavian Hound pups. For those who do not know, my friends alrady have 5 Huskies and 1 Scandanavian Hound so they now have 9 dog mouths to feed!!!!! think it is friends who live on the left overs! Anyway we had such a good afternoon, the pups were a lively tangle of very long legs. We both took our cameras which is just as well as my battery needed recharging. Luckily OH got some good pics which I will post when I can.
Lunch today was at Dunain Park and we enjoyed every mouthful. The puds sounded delicious but we had to decline as we were so full. I liked the sound of the choc and pistachio fondant with blueberry ice cream but didn't think I could manage.
