BRIGHT & BREEZY, as you see I am acting on your suggestion to update THE GABFEST thread. Btw, earlier I switched back to the cam to check out the noise you talked about, but by the time I got there all was quiet, as it is now at an empty nest. Now, at 2:37 I hear a cheep that does not sound like an osprey on the nest. Also another bird sound that I cannot describe.SUNSHINE< I too like it here at THE GABFEST. I feel a freedom here that I never did on the main blog. I felt there like my comments always turned out too long & if I wanted to vere off onto another topic I didn't feel I should do that. Here, who cares? I do hope we can keep the GABFEST going, but there is no point in keeping it open if no one else is interested just to talk to myself. . If the three of us keep it open, maybe eventually others will find & join us to chat about what interests them.
Oh dear - What has Tiger revealed.
That is it June if your ancestry was accused of killing Queen Mary of Scotland you will never be allowed past Hadrians Wall. LOL.
TRICKY - Just read in a blog when June was talking about the heather that you had a girlfriend called Heather.
Did you blog correct or did you mean that you once took a girlfriend in the heather. If you come clean we will not tell your mother. What with B & B child hood boyfriends taking her behind trees and may be you in the heather what will this site come to - LOL.
It is good you like the gabfest and want to spend the winter here - trouble is I recall another Tricky around LG and I am sure he was referred to as Tricky Dicky - hope we do not get confused.
Keith/June The walking encyclopedia has spoken, Is there anything that he does not know and this is one of the reasons I think this is a brilliant thread. Let us know if you find out more June, very interesting indeed lol.
Keith be careful one could get a bad name lol
We have all got together for the main reason the LG Ospreys and it is good to talk about other things and interests and have a laugh too.
Reading Richard's update. Tore does seem to be reluctant to move and has settled nicely in Cornwall.
Bynack has moved again. Just so pleased they are both well.
Lowry, enjoying my day off but back to the grindstone again tomorrow. Watched the Sea Eagles early this morning.
B&B glad you are enjoying your day off,got a good look at the Sea Eagle chick last night.
Good to know Tore,Bynack and Rothes all doing ok.
My, my, what one can learn on a thread about LG ospreys! I did google a few paragraphs about the "Plot." It would seem that the intended victim was Queen Elizabeth 1, NOT Mary Queen of Scots. As for the plotters, they all seemed a rather stupid lot: smart enough to get into BIG trouble, but never smart enough to complete anything - be it for good or for evil. And too dumb to avoid getting caught. Fortunately none of the first names match up with any of the names I have, so I think we must have been just poor relatives or maybe another branch altogether. And of course I looked up Hadrians Wall and immediately found a little history, a map, and some lovely pictures. Now can you imagine, all these years I thought the Great Wall was in China.
June brilliant, you have learnt so much about Scottish and English History. I cannot comment but you are never a poor relation.
I have had the worst night for a long time, a girl I know asked if she could walk my dog at 6pm and I was unsure but let her the fool I am. She loved my dog when he was a pup. Found out she does not live where I thought anymore. Anyway, hr later no dog back. I have been walking the streets and park and saw two boys and they said they would look for him. She gave him away to somone, so I am told but need to see her and ask. I think probably she let him off the lead and he run away. My dog is so well known. The boys took him off someone and brought him back so they said. What a stupid fool I am. Only just got him back and so relieved. This is not a nice place and I will never let him out of my sight again.
June it is very quiet here tonight and love your post, just too exhausted.
Waiting for Tore to cross the Channel but she seems very settled in Cornwall for now.
B&B What the heck you thinking about letting someone else walk your dog? I know how much that dog means to you -it's just not like you to let a stranger take your dog out . You were a lucky girl you got the dog back. Lesson learned ?
June Spradling~ My history teacher always said remember its the victors that write the history books so the plotters might not of been as dim as portrayed :)
A very old Shropshire Lad.
B&B, yes it is quiet here at the Gabfest, last night & today too. Glad you got your dog back safe and sound. A beloved pet is just as precious as a family member.
Hi CHRISS & Everyone.
SUNSHINE, you have been unusually quiet for several days now. Hope you are feeling well.
I think we must get used to the quiet, as "Winter Mode" is fast approaching. A quick check shows the cam is still with us, but for how long? The background of trees is definitely golden. May be enhanced by the evening sunlight, (7:24 PM UK; 2:25 pm here) although I believe I did read that leaves at LG are starting to turn color already. Charlotte has posted a new report on the main blog. Tore, Bynack & Rothes are all safe & pretty much in the same places, although Bynack has advanced somewhat to the South.
ChrisS very true words spoken by your History teacher.
June my house is north facing so it is always cold even in the summer as the sun does not get round until late evening. My house in York was South facing and I would never ever buy a house North facing, meeting someone here, not my choice brrr. I had to put the heating on on Saturday as I was freezing cold however warmer outside. The temperature as dropped very fast here. As I have said before, maybe from the middle of August in Scotland, I say the start of the fall/autumn. I am in the Central belt so further North will be turning a lot quicker. Definatlely a chill in the air especially on a morning and on a night.
Sunshine as you will have seen has posted on the main blog and he is one of the kindest funniest people on any of the blogs. It is not the same but I know he will be back soon. I know you have a lot of questions about birding and I am also keen to learn also.
Charlotte has updated the main blog and she has a wonderful way with words and very down to earth too.
Tore and Bynack are ok but I would love to wake up tomorrow to see Tore has flown the Channel and Bynack needs a proper stop over. I am learning all the time and appreciate all your comments.
Keith, I seem to be the runaway writer tonight and will save some stories for the winter nights.
oh stuff it, I can be word perfect but not editing again, that button hurts because I have hit it so much lol
