Hallo all. It's a brand new week!
I will have to search the internet and try and find "try the neighbours" one. That really gave me a good laugh.
Margobird
So glad I didn't offend. I wish good things for you and hopefully things will improve. Would be great to receive big 'ol pot of Indiana autumn flowers!!! . Over the last few years it has pretty tought for me, losing my Mum and my Dad and all the little problems that I have had. This site has really helped as I feel we are all friends with a common interest, an immense love of nature and wildlife. When ever I feel things are getting me down I watch BigRab74's marvellous videos of our beloved osprey family. Some of them are tear jerkers but on the whole they bring a huge smile to my face. My ambition is to go to Loch Garten someday and see them for real. Not sure this will hapeen but who knows.
Have a good day when it comes Diana and enjoy the wonderful nature you seem to have there.
Cir4rus Garten is never far from my mind and who knows perhaps she is either with Rothes or has travelled further and is near Mallachie. Wouldn't it be brilliant if someone could get a photo of her. In my heart I am sure she is OK bless her, such a feisty one that's for sure.
Morning (afternoon) Margobird.
That flying training must be fascinating to see, remember to tell us about it when it happens.
Must sign out now and go to work, take care and have a nice day

Oh gosh, I lost all my replies !
Here's a second attempt.
Sue C, very many thanks once again. Got there this time. Did you see the last photo of Xalbai? He looks like something from an outer space swamp ! No bird would ever recognise him as human that's for sure ! LoL. :)
jsb - I'm up for that, thank you. So enjoyed the first episode.
Margobird: that's the longing in my heart too - that some local 'Xalbai' would spot Garaten's leg ring and send a photo to Richard.
AQ - it's so irritating to have to Shut Down when an electrical storm hits, isn't it. Who had the mud rain ? You or Wattle? Do hope that's all over now.
Wattle - how are the dust storms over there doing? Apart from the news we had when Sydney was first hit we've heard no more. I suppose dust dispersing isn't news. I loathe that about the media. They give you the bad news and never tell you the ending (unless it's worse !)
The weather is lovely here in Bristol - yesterday and today. Mild for a UK September and sunshine with blue skies all around. For the first time in many years (at least here in the south and west) we are having an Indian summer. Anyone know where that expression comes from?
Will do auntie I am really looking forward to it.
enjoying reading the chat even though I'm not really participating much. More like a "drive by" comment thrown in from the edge!!
I thought putting in hyperlinks was fine. It was photo's that we shouldn't post if people didn't own the copyright . That was my understanding.
Trust your mum's visit is going well, Gary. I'm sure you have outings planned. Is she a wildlife fan?
Afternoon everyone. This morning I was at Barnwell Country Park where I spent a pleasant half hour in the hide watching a kingfisher. It is a beautiful bird and twice in 2 weeks I have seen it there. Afterwards we sat in the car and had a picnic and just as we were about to leave I saw a Muntjac deer emerge from the bushes. It was very wary but luckily all was quiet and no one was around. We watched it in silence for about 5 mins and then a second Muntjac followed it out. It was darker in colour and seemed more shy. They stayed around for a few minutes more then vanished into the undergrowth.
Good afternoon Alan it sounds as though you have had a lovely morning complete with a picnic. Weather is amazing at the moment. I have been out in the garden looking at spider webs of which there are many and also seeieng butterflies and dragon flies. A bit late but summer at last and looking good for quite a few dys yet.
