I am still here reading all the news but a bit busy to think of a good reply to some of the messages so will carry on reading and enjoying.
I have changed my avatar again. This one was taken at Rutland Water in July.

Morning auntie, I have been following the story of the Malta massacre. the pictures break my heart, so many beautiful birds killed. I was in the army in the early 60's in Malta and never saw or heard birds. Italy used to be a bit like that but has changed and shooting off birds is no longer allowed and I have to say we go to Italy every year for our holidays and there are plenty of birds around. Really can't understand people who want to kill wildlife.

Diane in Indiana chin up. It must be depressing for you but I think everyone is suffering a bit financially. Take comfort from the good work you do protecting your animals. I am a pensioner and without my marvellous husband I would not be able to cope on my pension despite the fact I worded from the age of 15 to 63. I wish you good things.
Wattle 15 it just looks horrendous for you. I listened to the news this morning and I will be thinking of you and hoping the situation improves soon. I am amazed at the young currawong (have never heard of those before)`sitting outside your window in all that. It must be playing havoc with the wildlife as well.
I feel the same very tearful to see beautiful birds like this dead. What on earth is wrong with some humans (I use that term loosly as to me they are not human).

Alan: just fab programmes – I‘d watch ‘em :)
Wattle15 I was horrified to see your pictures, does this happen (mud rain) very often? The wildlife !!
Diane Flooding in Georgia – oh dear, there’s so much awful weather in the world (and I don’t have the heart to mention DjoanS news). Good luck on the financial front – I know all about ‘juggling’ and keeping plates spinning.
I caught the news about Sydney on the 9 am news on classicfm – people were doing their daily jog in it !!!!!!
Annette, your kitchen tiles sound lovely, what colours in the tiles? Are they a sort of ‘neutral’ range?
Good morning Teresa – lovely new avatar. Rhyming words – all part of being a poet !
I’m personally very grateful that Mallachie is staying put - getting fishing practice, resting up, sorting out those flying manoeuvres - all before any big push further south. I would imagine that Rothes has her fishing skills pretty much honed by now (trust so) but would like Mallachie to get her confidence up about it for a little longer.
Margobird, I agree, there must be something really wrong with those humans.
Loads of Osprey pictures:

What a WONDERFUL link Auntie - thank you so much. A real feast for the eyes.
