Evening all:

Cirrus had a question in the last post of yesterday's thread:

How do I delete space returns anyone please??? I've tried without success (it's hard to see space returns  :(   )

Cirrus: I'm not quite clear on what you mean by space returns? Where are they and where are they showing up (Word? On this blog?)

  • Was just going to post Joan. Thanks.

  • Having no sound is a big miss ... I keep having to walk past the computer to check, instead of relying on the sound alerts :-))

  • Great to hear there's been another fish delivery.  Thanks for the heads-up and pic, Joan :-)

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • I am off to do some food shopping and then to buy some bird seed. The birds are eating so much. I hope the camera comes on while I am out.

  • Morning All.  I have just finished reading everything since 7.00pm last night.  I was being ordered to the table as I shut my laptop down, when I heard the usual 'fish' calls.  I said 'fish', OH said 'curry' so I had to shut down and not report!  But I see that of course it was seen and reported anyway!

What lovely captures from the stills last night, and a brilliant exchange about nuts and mealworms.  What topics you all cover in the early hours.  I laughed out loud!  Thank you.  And jolly well done Cirrus  for achieving your first vid!!  It was worth the hassle too.

Looks as though that fish (number 2 or 3?)  was a good sized one by the time they are taking to finish it.  Well done Odin.  I think someone asked earlier whether Odin was every likely to tried to brood the chicks.  I don't think I have ever seen him take on the chicks at all.  He is certainly keen to care for the eggs, but always appears somewhat mystified by the growing chicks.  What do you all think?

  • SHEILA  Agree Odin will sit on the eggs but totally leaves it to EJ where the chicks are concerned - apart from providing loads of fish that is. It was good  to see our family at LG on Tues when we met up with Margobird.  Not getting the live webcam at the moment, wonder if anyone else has the same problem.

  • Simply great STILL shots, Sheila !  Yes, two fish so far. Thanks for the congrats on the video (due to Scylla's encouragement) Can't get sound for some reason though ( it's not for not cheching various boxes in the Sound tab  :(    )

It's not ''normally'' the male Osprey ''thng'' to brood  (they have smaller brood patches anyway). But it wasn't ''normal'' for female Ospreys to go fishing until after the juves fledged but EJ proved the experts wrong. So, I would say, it' s all down to the individual Osprey . And they are all individuals with their own personalities .   :)
