Another new week. I wonder what surprises it will bring?
Tiger Signature
Well I have never known such a long Grand Prix but what a battle to the finish with us bouncing up and down in our chairs! Button took 1st on the final lap.
Just had a text from Margo as she goes on shift...her sunset is as good as mine.
PPs Further text when I said to her we did scenery up here... she said we sure do!!!
Cirrus Glad you like them.
Evening all: Hope the rain some of you got today helps the drought a bit...
Alicat: Look forward to your pix of LG!
Heather: Was that your first trip to LG?
Wendy: Hotwater bottle for Margo eh? I know there's a hotplate; can they heat up hot chocolate, tea, or.... Thanks for keeping us in the know!
Lindybird: Gorgeous peonies; here they are flown in from - um - the Pacific Northwest I think (pricey too!) Wow! You've been on the Concorde; bet that was a thrill.
dibnlib: Oh no - what a mix up with your bro. Re her meds, they can cause serious mental confusion in older people, especially when not given correctly or when given in conjunction with other meds. Older folks metabolize meds more slowly than younger folks and they can accumulate in the system and cause all kinds of problems. Also, is anyone monitoring her fluid intake? Dehydration can cause confusion too. Do hope someone can look into all that. Went through all kinds of ups and downs with my own Mum. Ah! Now read that your bro is with Alzheimer's group, so probably knows much, much more than I do! Re Treks, I've seen those bikes around. I've got a "vintage" Raleigh with three speeds that weighs four tons and I wouldn't mind something lighter. Like the way the handlebars are so adjustable on the new bikes.
Tiger: Great video of Pale Male; he seemed quite unphased; wonder how close the camera was.
Had nice day; went to gym. Told OH I wasn't coming back until I'd lost 5 lbs! :-) Only 4.99999 to go! Then planted a new vine in our garden - a magnificent Sun Parasol 'Giant Crimson' mandevilla; then pulled some weeds and chatted to neighbor. Sun finally came out around 5 p.m.!!
I think that this picture is stunning. It is from Friends of Blackwater on Facebook.
Annette It is a great video. It had never occured to me that killing pigeons was such tough work. I guess it should have done.
ANNETTE thanks for everyones concern. I have certainly noticed that Mum does not drink enough. Even mugs of tea she tends not to finish and getting her to drink water is impossible - she just pulls a face saying she couldn't possibly drink the stuff.
Miserable day here again. Hope it is better tomorrow when we see Margo. OH has suggested a picnic so we will have to see forecast. She is working till 1 o'clock then again in the evening so do not know how much time she will have to spare but if there is time we thought we might go to our favourite Loch an Eilean
dibnlib Ah Loch an Eilean. Such a historic place for ospreys. Not sure if you have read the book Scottish Ospreys but Loch an Eilean features heavily in it.
dibnlib - very worrying about your mum !!!
Tiger - yes stunning pic of Osprey and chic - and I don't know where Blackwater is (States I guess) but just looking at these beauties it's obvious they are not British Ospreys. They just do look different don't they? Although I understand they are the same speicies and not a sub species (Golly, anyone would think I knew what I was talking about)
Hi guys:Just had text from Margo....night duty now over it's a 10 hour shift. She was starting to get cold about 2 hours before the end.
They can get a sleep hers was between 11 and 4 but I don't think she got much so she off to put her head down before her shift this afternoon.
