Morning all: Late checking tonight. Back later...
Just caught up again with all your news.
OG - so pleased for your grandson.
Alan - lovely pics of the goslings
Take That ehhh, Well done WendyB and hope you thoroughly enjoy the night with daughter - and also the fact that when she flies back she is going to see them in London, what a lucky girl!!
Ran into a few problems with the CH installation but hopefully they will be resolved tomorrow. Probably have no hot water etc on Thursday as they will be taking the old cistern away and installing new boiler - could mean a pub lunch, mmmm.

Lynette Good excuse for a pub lunch!!!
Looking forward to TT with daughter..she saw them in Cardiff without Robbie W so it should be a good couple of days. Pet Shop Boys are with them so should be good and Adele in London so a bit of a change for youngest.
Day improved into a very pleasant summer evening. Church we went to was out in the beginning of the Border hills – so a lovely drive out in the country with the sun behind us – and not long set when we drove back, therefore quite light but without sun in our eyes. Saw lots of wee Bunnies in the field edges, and a Heron in the shallows of the river. Met people we knew from various villages around, a good commissioning service for two workers in Presbytery, and an excellent preacher.
Tina – good to see you posting again. From the potteries, then – any sagger-maker’ bottom-knockers in the family? (Sorry, couldn’t resist that one – ignore it if you wish!)
Wendy – how great to have a whole family of Woodpeckers in your garden. Since you have seen their fluffy tummies, I assume the two babies have now fledged? So pleased you and Margo are getting the arrangements sorted for her arrival at the weekend. You are so kind.
Lynette – good excuse to eat out, I would say! I hope the problems are very little ones and easily resolved.
Not much happening the rest of this week so will be just rumbling on towards being ready to go away on Sunday. Temp cleaner is fortnightly due to paying for travel (actually three weeks this time as we negotiated round our hols) so OH will clean the study one of the days. Oven door has a mechanical problem, so repair man coming to look at it tomorrow.
Now bedtime – Good night all.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Aww Pale Male and Lima's chicks are growing fast. Today Lincoln has posted wonderful videos. See Pale Male thread

Evening all: Lots of garage sorting going on at our house today.
Sounds like things are going well for most folks - nice goose pix from Alan; OG's g'son doing well; Wendy and Margo are getting together at Inverness, Djoan is enjoying Avocets and Cirrus had a good night's sleep. :-) Diane: Wonder what that Mars caper was all about!!
Busy sorting through credit card bill tonight with one eye on nest and the other on the telly - hmmm - need another eye or two....
Diane: Huffington Tech says the Mars video has been reposted. Comments on that site ID the site as 1) WalMart; 2) Apple's new data center!
Annette: LOL!!!
The creator of the Mars video has reposted it on YouTube. If anyone wants to see what all the global hoopla is about, you can view it here: Mars Structure Repost. It's widely reported that the "object" does, indeed, appear on the Google Mars terrain map at the coordinates given (I don't have Google Mars installed).
I was having fun with this, but I don't believe that it's an alien base on Mars. However, I also don't believe NASA's "cosmic ray streak" speculation. To me, the thing clearly has mass (3 dimensions) and angles that indicate it's not a natural phenomenon or a cosmic ray artifact. News organizations all over the world have reported on the video. Why can't or won't our government just produce some evidence and issue a calm, reasoned, plausible statement? What's the real agenda here? That's what I find fascinating.
Cirrus: I loved your post. I had a good laugh over it!!! Thanks!
Hi, all. I find the travels of Rothes to be very confusing. Is her strange migration pattern largely a response to the bad weather -- the wretched sandstorms and the coastal gales? I look forward to further reports.
The poor woodland rabbits were lined up under my car, hanging their heads and looking miserably hot today. Poor little fellas. The wasp nest is expanding because the babies are growing inside their little individual pockets. When I approach the window, the Queen always strikes a defensive posture, looks me in the eye, buzzes a warning at me, and then ignores me while she resumes her caretaking duties. The birds here have been very quiet today, probably because of the heat. They aren't expending much energy. Even the crows have been restrained. The pair of Carolina wrens did sing for a while toward evening.
Annette: Interesting to hear that your weather has also been unseasonal. What's happening in this country? Glad your daughter arrived safely in Arizona. I looked at a map, and I assume that the huge wildfires aren't threatening your family??? They didn't look close enough to be an immediate threat, but I don't have a lot of experience with fires and the way they travel. Hope your loved ones are all okay. Hope you aren't working too hard. You sound busy!
Joan: Those avocets are truly beautiful. Thanks for posting!Patriciat: I hope you have recovered from your dog-induced fall. Ouch! Tiger: The Pale Male/Lima videos and photos are spectacular. Thanks for the link! I haven't seen my red-tailed hawk for a while. Cirrus: Sorry you haven't been sleeping well. Hope your rest is better now.
Lindy: Glad you managed to escape from the supermarket. 15% of the population thinks that milk comes from male cows. Sheesh...that's sad. I'm so sorry that you had more damage than you initially thought from the plumbing problem. I hope you can find just the right flooring for your bathroom. Eventually, I'm going to replace all of the flooring in this house. I drive myself crazy looking at flooring sites on the web, and I keep changing my mind about what I want. :-)
Margo: So very glad that your transporation problem has been sorted!Alan: Those were gorgeous goslings.
OG: "Integrated Petroleum Geosciences" sounds very impressive, indeed. Well done, to your grandson. I hope you're feeling better and you will be able to enjoy your trip.
Hello to everyone I've neglected. I miss AQ. I do hope she's not eating anything laced with the deadly E. coli!
I have a long To-Do list tomorrow, so I probably won't be around. Everyone have a good day!!!
'Allo 'allo, Clement is in France!

'Morning Everyone: No weather here today! - its neither sunning nor raining, and can't make its mind up, I think.
Off to the big D I Y Store later, to look at stuff and pick out the tiles that Eldest Son wants in his kitchen - then OH will make a start on putting them on, in the next few days. The rain has devastated my beautiful poppies, which were around the garden in all colours- Boo. More clematis out now, though, and the lilies are bright. Its our most colourful time in the garden, as there are a few later flowers, but at present I can see colour in almost every corner. Just a pity we can't sit out in the garden and enjoy it, only look through the windows at it!
'see you' later.
