Almost forgot about starting this one! Off to read last few posts of last week.
Good afternoon all now back from hairdressers with s slightly different style which will not take a lot of looking after while I am LG. Wont' be time for faffing about with a hot brush while I am there. It means I will probably have to have another perm in about 6 weeks as I asked for it to be wavy as opposed to curly. Quite warm here today but feels humid an most unusually I have a bit of a head ache, might be sometthing to do with the long time I spent on here yesterday.
Annette good to hear you had 2 hours relaxation in your hammock. Will have done you good after all the rushing around you have been doing.
DjoanS not started packing yet but know what I am going to pack, will probably start on Sunday and most of it can be done due to the nature of what I am taking. I am going to try and keep a daily record of my exploits at LG. My memory is so awful that I will have to write things down as I go. Just hope I will be able to read it when I get back, handwriting pretty awful these days.
BrendaH how lovely to have nut hatch fledgelings in your garden. Hope Mum lets you get a pic of them. I will be giving OH lots of sympath when he gets home from work this evening. The worst of it wasw I rang him at 6.00 this morning because that it is usually the time he would be up. He had only had about 3 hours sleep so I think he may be a silent partner tonight, nodding off in front of TV.
ALICAT have a great holiday and may the sun shine on your.
Margobird
Good afternoon Lindybird how lucky your OH can do so many things DIY related. As marvellous as my OH is DIY etc is not something he is very good at. Can't complain though as he is so very good in other ways. I did feel sorry for hm and will spoil him a bit tonight and convince him I can do the washing up after dinner and water hsi vegetable and other plants for him. Spoke to him a short while ago and he says his ankle is very sore so will get him to put his foot in a bowl of cold water tonight when he sits down.
Morning all
Margobird: Oh your poor OH - a two hour walk when he was already tired and with a bad ankle yet!. Make a fuss of him tonight. You mention "gig" - here, that's usually associated (well, what do I know!) with musicians. I was wondering what kind of gig it was where he got accidentally kicked. (Night-time polo? Dancing with the Stars? Breaking and entering?) :-)
Alan: Tesco's again? In a "manly" fashion of course.
Brenda: Had to laugh at thought of birds with placards.
Lindybird: Good you caught the potential leak - lots of expensive damage avoided. Have to agree with BrendaH about DIY projects - my OH has lots of tools but is much better at writing checks (and it's faster too)!
Djoan: I'm bad at keeping fluid intake levels up - they say that by the time you feel thirsty, you've already got a bit dehydrated and it's easier to get that way as you get older (not that we're old of course).
Alicat: Have a lovely time! Nice to have a clean house to come back to - my Mom used to do when we went to Folkestone every year.
OG: Not sure what g/daughter will do about fulltime job offer; I think she may have some flexibility. Not sure she's planning any more babies for some time (hope not anyway).
Going to investigate suspicious new lumps in the garden (moles? gophers?). Somebody seems to have eaten a lorapetalum from below! I've put down every non-lethal thing I can buy.... :-( Maybe time to get out the blunderbuss or even an IED? (Kidding, sort of....)
Is it a bird? ... is it a plane? ... No. it's a White Tailed Beeble-Bum - watched by Mr Greenfinch last week:
and then he posed for a photo:
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Sorry about "Beeble Bum" - that's what they are called in this house!
Fab shot OG.

Annette: I was briefly awake early this morning, hence my disappearance. Talking of beds, I want to give some bed linen as a wedding present. As a mere male, I heard that some American sheets etc., are the best? Can you please PM me, if you can recommend an online store that I could use and tell me the brand to get? Thanks.

OG, Love your bird photographs. Excellent ID photo's for learners. I don't think I will forget Beeble-Bums.
Annette, Lovely to see the duck being well cared for. I have seen that happen in garden centres, but never a duck. Sorry you are having gopher/mole problems.
I hope AQ is not eating any cucumbers in Germany. In fact, hope she ignores all salads.
