Hi everyone. Here's hoping that the Super Ospreys at LG don't have to endure the quite frankly crazy winds that battered the area yesterday (23/05/11). Still sounds quite windy at LG just now.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Alan: thanks so very much for the great clip of the last feed - arn't they just gorgeous! I get a deep feeling that these are going to be two very special young Ospreys.
Wonderful news! Fingers crossed for the other egg too!
Alan - Thank you for that clip, fantastic. Also thanks to all who have posted pics etc. I had also been wondering about egg#2. I'm not clever about these things but OH who is, said that he thought that we had a failed egg. Only time will tell.
Alan: Thanks for the clip of the two bobbleheads getting fed. Great to see how EJ makes sure everyone gets a fair share :-)
FISH!!! :-)
Feeding time :-)
An early edition of chick stats, if necessary I shall add some notes about the times of the events. Some may have different views, but I feel I can explain my times from forum or blog or LG centre sources. I tried to stick to the official confirmed times as much as possible.
Also you will see that sadly I have assumed that the second chick is from the third egg, I would love to be proven wrong in that respect.
You can see above that today's chick spent almost a day and a quarter less in the egg than the older sibling. (If in fact egg #2 has failed to hatch.)
What does that mean? Would it be more advanced when it was laid? Or less developed when it was hatched? Slightly premature?

Oh, darn it ! I missed another feed! Thanks to Heron for the pics.
Also thanks to jsb for the Stats, very interesting to see.
Lindybird: The little one was at the front when I looked and was doing fine.
I notice the younger chick isn't backward at coming forward during feeding times. I'll always remember how chick3 from last year would barge in between the two older siblings. Seems that EJ and Odin don't breed shrinking violets :-)
Paul, thanks for the pitures of the last feed. C2 makes me think we have yet another feisty chick this year.
jsb, Thanks for your latest stats.
Is EJ calling for some more evening/ overnight fish or has she got some hidden.
