I use a different technique which might interest people. I open the thread in one tab and then open it again in another. I compose my post in one tab while looking at the posts I am replying to in another. Or at least that is what I do if composing a large post.

Yes, good idea Tiger, I use separate tabs a lot too. Very handy for posting pics from one page or forum to another.

In IE9 you can tear off the tabs if you want, also put them back when you choose. I don't use this facility very often though, tend to leave them all at the top.

Good morning one and all and I am feeling much  better about the nest seeing that I can’t hear the tremendous roar of the wind.
Seeing that I can’t hear ……  mmmmmmmmmmm
Anyway, I do hope Tiger will forgive me for using the Word Window (cringe) since it seems to be causing a problem.  Am I the only one not to notice pages getting stuck? Or is it that they are always timely fixed by Tiger?   (Thank you Tiger)

Annette – I was surprised that the motor cycle was ‘’legal’’ too !  Sadly, the newspaper has become clean white, grease resistant sheets of uniform size.
 So pleased it was such a great whale count this year.  I haven’t seen Gary either and I have just sent Kelly a PM message with links , just in case. Patriciat posted here the other  day. Don’t know about Sheila. I’ll send Gary a PM after I post this but I don’t think Sheila is one of mine.

I posted this by copying it from Quick note into the Word Window. Did I do the correct thing?

Just to put another iron in the fire - I type strait on reply if I am not inserting anything and then post, otherwise I click on "use rich formatting"and when it comes up I type what I want to say and then press the insert button to browse, pick what I want to insert usually from my pics and double click to insert.   Seems to work well for me but could it be its because I have Windows 7 or should it work for anyone..........

That sounds a good idea Tiger, never thought of opening side by side so you can remember who has posted, so simple when you think about it.  Must try it.

Lynette, yes that is how it is supposed to work, and does if you just use the reply boxes. That is what I do most of the time with normal sized posts. The problem seems to be arising from copying and pasting text from elsewhere ie Word.

I use the same method as Tiger. It means I can scroll back to previous pages.

Lynette, Tiger, Chloe - I insert from Word most of the time, except short replies like this one, and it always posts as intended, and has not yet stalled a  page, so far as I know!
