All quiet on the nest apart from the wind. EJ and the chick resting.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Correction: the chick did get some food, but only two mouthfuls.

The other branch in the foreground is a bit of a nuisance too!!! It is a wonder the eggs don't get blown off! Very windy and miserable over here in NI.

BTW is that really the chick calling? It sounds too loud and low-pitched for the little one, but if it's EJ, I'm amazed she can make the noise whilst eating!
I'm returning to watch the nest - more interesting than Sat night rubbish on TV. Still windy there.
Belated Happy Birthday Sheryl.
Have a great trip Sheila
RtB, It is EJ calling to the chick as she feeds herself. I can remember thinking, in the past, that she must suffer from severe indigestion. Thanks for your recording.
Odin has just returned and removed the part-eaten fish
Thanks Brenda for the information, it certainly didn't sound like the chick. Thanks to all the other posters too for regular reports and some lovely captures.
I think I might have to do something productive today, so I'll be 'tuning in' to read all your posts later :-)
Oh just read the 'Mystery of the Missing Egg' about the 2006 season on the DPOF site pointed to by Tiger. I wish I'd been watching, but I knew nothing about ospreys back then, and hadn't done any birdwatching for many years until a friend pointed me towards some Italian birdcams a couple of years ago.
Just seen the Met Office weather warning for Monday into Tuesday for Aviemore. Wind gusts of 70mph maybe 80mph. I know the birds have coped with wind, rain, snow, hot sun in the past, but I can't recall winds of that speed after the chicks have hatched.
looks like Odin has jsut brouigh in another bit of fish...
how he's able to in this wind is beyond me
Odin flies in and is being less than helpful ... he is shifting sticks and twigs and has another go at 'That Branch'!
He almost walks over EJ ... and now he's gone and she settles down.
