Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
Very important announcement of software upgrade. Get the lifeboats ready. Three days without this site.

21st Tiger
Not sure I understand everything I 've read. I'm away over this time which will probably mean I'll have a panic to find the nest cam etc when I come back on 21st :(
Lovely pic of hawk and chick Tiger. (very sorry to hear about Pale Male )
Tiger: I would never have been aware of Graham Bird's info if you hadn't posted about it. Thank you.
Hi folks and thanks for your news.
Annette - pity your plans went awry but at least you could laugh about it at the end of the day.
OG - don't hold myself with these two tier wedding receptions. We had what I call a good ol fashioned one. Service at our local Methodist Chapel then home for photographs in the garden then on to a local resteraunt for a meal. After that guests were invited back to the family home if they wanted to for a while. We went back and changed and then parents took us to Picadilly Station in Manchester for the train to London where we had our first night (and thereby hangs a tale) before going on to Portsmouth for the ferry to the Isle of Wight for our honeymoon. Went on a bit didn't I. Have been to evening receptions and not know anyone much so you're sitting there feeling like a fish out of water.
All looks calm at LG, weather holding if a little breezy and I think its Odin sitting at present.

Good morning all and bright and sunny here at the moment although we could have some heavy showers later. Even though the rain we had over the weekend was heavy it has not made that much difference, ground stil very dry and impossible to dig anything.
My younger sister phoned our ill sister over the weekend and she had been away for the week spending time with her daughter and her 2 grandchildren. She cancelled the appointmens she had to have a line put in for the chemotherapy treatment to be given the next day. She did say however that she will think about this again after she has a week's holiday on the Isle of Wight at the beginning of July. She has discussed the situation with her Macmillan nurse who says that the decision must be hers at the end of the day. One worrying thing though is that she now has a cough, not caused by a cold and has had for several weeks now. We know there is something on her lung and wondering whether it is progressing at a pace there. Obviously if she does decide in the end to have the treatment she will have to be as well as possible and we are worried that this might not be the case in another month or so. Things seem to changing all the time and not for the best.
Billie has kept us very amused over the weekend. This morning she was full of beans and so very playful. We introduced her to the scratching post as we was using our carpet to sharpen her claws and she has taken to is right away. Has been throwing the toy that OH got for her up in the air and chasing it round. Good to have around as it does take my mind of things for a while. She chose to spend last night outside but was ready and waiting at 6.00 this morning to come in and play for a couple of hours before she spread herself out and went to sleep. She will probably stay like this for hours now.
Cirrus I read your comments about the forthcoming upgrade and then read the news myself. I am so worried now that I won't be able to find my way around. The site will be down from next Monday and I will be away from the Wednesday and wondering when and if I will be able to log into anything. I know it is for the best and will bring improvements but I hate change. Even though I read right though can't say I understood a lot of it. I can see me having sleepless nights over this.
Tiger thanks for the hawk and chick link. Shame about Pale Male, wonder if the fault lies with him as Lola never produced any eggs.
Diane thanks for the links to the hawk attach story. You do have to wonder though whether that person did do something to make them so protective of their young. Must have been very frightening for that young man.
Lindybird thanks for the Monday Smiles. Have never left anything on the roof of the car myself but OH has driven off a couple of times with his brief case on the roof and I have heard it clattering down the drive. the other thing we managed to do once was leaving our cool box full of picnic food in the drive and not realising until we were ready to eat it in the middle of the New Forest. Had to go off and find a pub so we could eat.
Cirrus do hope you have a lovely time on Dartmoor. Once spent a holiday there in a very remote cottage and absolutely loved it.
OG more of your stunning photographs for which I thank you and note what you and WendyB say about wedding celebrations that go on for so long. My nephew's wedding three years ago was just that. Wedding at lunchtime followed by sit down meal and then straight into the evening do with a very loud disco. I can remember being absolutely shattered by the time it all finished att 12.00. My wedding involved a buffet lunch and then a couple of ours in the afternoon and then we were on our own. Honeymoon was a day out at Lyme Regis and we went back to work on the Monday.
Annette sorry the weather spoilt your trip on the lake but pancakes etc sound good and I see you enjoyed the surprise concert you went to.
Lynette thanks for the captures from Dunedin, eglets and Goshawk captures, 2 little balls of fluff.
Sheila FE thanks for the link to the story about Skye, what a little sweetheart. Not sure but did you put the link on to the osprey pics, sorry if I have it wrong but they are amazing pictures.
Alan hope Hamish got on well at vets and his paw is improving. Thanks for the link to the Grand County ospreys and the lovely pics of the bobbleheads at Hilton Head.
Think I had better shut up now and get a bit of lunch ready for myself. Have a good day all.

Thanks for the warning of the up-coming up-grade Tiger. It sounds complicated to one who likes simplicity!! So we have to change all the bookmarks etc. Will I ever get back into the membership bit ever again!!! It looks as though I'm going to have to make you all my Friends in future, quoting Graham Bird, the IT chappie: Messages are only allowed from your Friends so this provides the first line of defence, as it were. If you have befriended a person on the Community and they are contacting you via Messages in a way you do not like, you can simply de-friend them and they will not be able to Message you again. But if I have no Friends I cannot contact anyone in future for a 'private' chat (yes, I know it's not private, but how many folk really follow these exchanges regularly? I have had a few 'private' exchanges with a very small number of folk, and they will know who they are!

To save weight in the car I suspect we will pop into Majestic in Perth when OH and I set off for stage two of the holiday! Others are in charge of the white wine.
Thanks DjoanS for the news of first chick at Derby. What a lovely time of the year wih all the new life.
Looks like a very interesting programme on BBC 2 Scotland tomorrow night at 9 pm. "Fair Game? Scottish Sporting Estates" exploring the killing of protected birds in the Scottish countryside.
