Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
Morning all: Good Lord, how to keep up with all the posts, which are coming thick and fast, probably because of the impending change.
Tiger: Talking dog video was brilliant - but what heartless person could "tease" a poor dog like that! :-) Wow - that landing sounded painful, they have the slow motion version there too (though it took me a minute to realize that the day/months are indicated the reverse of ours). I opened a Facebook page some time back to get in touch with a former associate. I rarely visited it; when I did, found not only my original friend, but lots of her friends too! Not the cruise I signed up for, so closed the account. Have a hard enough time keeping up with three-dimensional friends! :-) Besides, what else do you need when you have this group - the best! Thanks for info on doing a link.
patricia: As someone else suggested, do you know anyone who could stay over the night you're away? I'd do it if I were closer. What about local church/retired nurse?
Barbara Jean: Oh hurray, just saw your post re carnyx!
Brenda: A Lost & Found thread - very good!
Alan: Oh poor Hamish. Hope he'll be okay for your vacation.
OG: I don't like those tapering skirts either - they will shriek "dated" next time you pull them out of the closet. Go comfy! I'm leaving for Arizona Sunday mid-morning; Los Angeles traffic should be comparatively light and nobody will be roaring out to Palm Springs for the weekend, so should be a reasonably pleasant first few hours; will stay in Blythe for the night but will stop at yummy deli section of supermarket on way out of town to get decent dinner food for the evening (Blythe is culinarily challenged, to say the least!) Really looking forward to seeing g'daughter and new baby and look forward to shopping expeditions with them! :-)
dibnlib: Did OH come back with new Volvo? After all, if Alan's Lady P can have 24 hats, what's one more car? Ah - see he did; very nice. Good luck with visit to your Mom's.
Trish2: Good luck with the lotto tonight. Re the "friend" thing, I don't think you'll be inundated with unwanted messages since we share so much on these pages; In this instance, I think we're all just covering bases in case the new site gets confusing and we have to go directly to a "friend" for help in navigating, etc.
OK, gotta get going. Have a good evening all.
Late coming on today. Had housework to do, then deciding which CH company to go with as we want a new central heating system installed - have warm air at present which is inefficient. Decisions Decisions.
Will catch up with all the posts later after I get back from a meeting - 7 pages since yesterday, you have all been prolific in your writing!!!!!
Just watched a right tussle at Manton Bay - Hubby brought in a huge stick and his Mrs. didn't really want it where he had placed it, finally it was put at the side of the nest behind where she was sitting.

New Forest chicks being fed and also the Chichester oneshome alone
Brenda, know what you mean about the stills being quite dull, just had a look.
Great sequence at Manton Bay Lynette. Thanks
Many thanks to all for the invitations/acceptances regarding 'friends'. I think between us we must have covered everyone, and I dare say there won't be a problem on Thursday when we switch on to the new system!
Annette great news of the whale watch. Lovely to know the calf count is up, given the impract of atrocious natural events at sea and on land which could have an affect. Something must be going well for them. Have a great time in AZ with your family. No doubt there will be lots of baby cuddles! We will miss you.
Oh Tiger that poor bird - the landing gear seems to have been a problem, or perhaps the weight of prey being brought in. I don't follow any of these sites avidly, but there is a real piggy looking chick among the three! Loved the talking dog too.
didnlib hope you enjoy your new car. Is it a similar size to your last one. I'm still not totally confident with mine, now six months old. It makes such a difference not commuting daily to work on a 38 mile round trip including the motorway. You soon get used to the size then!
patriciat I won't comment again other than to say I do hope it all resolves itself and that you are able to make it to Nethy. You deserve it!
Thanks for your HQ update Valmc. I had a peak at your web site, and am in admiration of the stunning photos. Although the winter may well have taken its toll on raptors, perhaps this wonderful start to the breeding season will improve matters.
AQ, so the sorting and packing is starting. Travelling light certainly does take more consideration, but is worth it. I bought a smaller case, with a retractable handle and wheels for our Swiss trip which made life easier on planes, trains and buses. But no doubt I'll revert to the BIG bag for the Scotland trip when it jut has to go in the boot! Have a lovely time, if I don't mention it again!
George I am so sorry you've been a bit down of late, not helped by being under the weather too. It is understandable though. However, it is good you have Diesel to care for and to have to get out on a daily basis. Take care.
Alan thank you for some super photos over the past couple of days, particularly the goldfinch and the starling. We have a lot of goldfinches around at the moment, and I have never known the niger seed feeder to empty so quickly. The groundfeeder is going down well too - a pair of mallard have now joined the pheasants and partridge. Hope you have a super time in Wales and enjoy the osprey there. Do you do much hill walking? Do you think we stand a better chance in the Eurovision Song Contest this year? I hope so.
Must go and get dinner started. Take care everyone.

What super photos Lynette. The chicks at Chichester are looking very healthy.
Nearly caught up with everyones news but before I forget:
Diane - good explanation for us about the update, lets hope we don't go astray!
Barbara Jean - don't give up, I know its not the same having the live cam but you can always keep up to date with the pics we all post of what is happening, at least until you find a solution to your problem. Keep posting.
Must remember to have another friends frenzy before we lose each other in cyber space.
Well, Ive sent a few more requests out. Thank you all for your requests which are accepted .
SheilaFE : We wont be doing any hill walking as Hamish is not able with his sore paw. Probably visit Portmerion, Bodnant Gardens and Penrhyn castle. Maybe go to Plas Newydd on Anglesey and Llandwyn Island. Ospreys at Glaslyn. Beddgelert has an award winning ice cream shop. Lots to do and the week will soon go. Not sure about the chances of Blue in the song contest. France are favourites with the bookies, Jedward are 2nd and Blue 3rd at the moment. A lot depends on political and tactical voting. I just love it as a spectacle.
ALAN like the bathing Starling but think bath needs a top up now.
