Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
Good afternoon george and I am pleased you are feeling a lot better. Sorry you found last week so difficult. it is always sad to lose a loved one and the missing of that person never goes away. Most of the time you can cope but there are still times when you feel overwhelmed by it all. Glad you and Diesel have had your morning walk and the chicken broth sounds good. I think a lot of us feel slightly apprehensive about the change. I know as I have got older I don't like change. You are are so right this is a wonderful site full of caring people and we all share the love of our ospreys. Take care of yourself and hope you will soon be 100% again.

Hello George. Glad you are feeling better and having a good week.
Another goldfinch pic with side view and back view. They really are beautiful wee birds:
Good afternoon all and I am so late today, very stressful morning where things didn't work out as planned. Still sunny here but quite windy and not so humid as it was last evening.
Alan what a lovely pic of the goldfinch and it certainly did look wet and Ethel and Oscar's nest. Opreys have to sit through the most attrocious weather at times but such dedication to breed and raise chicks. Thans for the latest news from Zurich. I still wonder if the chicks will be OK although they say they have removed the dead female and the prey.
patriciat such a difficult decision for you but it would do you so much good to get away for a few days. Perhaps a close member of the family could help out or respite care if you OH would agree to it. I feel you do really need a break to give you some "me tme" but do understand this may be difficult for you to even contemplate.
Tiger that would be good to have a link to pet pics. Always enjoy seeing the various dogs and cat already posted for us to enjoy.
Lindybird thanks for that link and I would image the programme on BBC Scotland tonight is along the same lines. Have to say I totally disagree that birds of prey should be shot to save grouse and other game birds which are only there for poeple to kill. Heaven knows why people would want to pay to shoot birds etc. eludes me completely. So pleased you had a nice trip out on Sunday with a lunch thrown in. I am afraid if I have wine at lunchtime I will fall asleep the minute I am home again. Nice walk with Buzz yesterday as well.
Annette the whale counts seems to be going well and more counted than last year which is such good news. Do enjoy your trip to Arizona.
original goldfinch I feel the same way about the upgrade just hope I can find everyone again when I return from Florence as week Wednesday.
Lynette thanks as always for all your captures.
Brenda H glad to see you have your computer back hope all is running trouble free now.
Sheila FE liked what you said about us all holding hands, I bet we could make a big circle as so many of us are feeling slightly worried about it all to say the least. I do hope we still have the facility for a Daily and Weekly chat. I know lots of people think it will be a big improvement but I like the the way it is relatively easy to get around the various blogs. Hoping that I can be won over when it happens.
Tiger I agree this site is one of the nicest around. Never any nasty bickering and full of people who have a common bond with ospreys.
HeatherB I am so glad to belong to this community because I do appreciate the way people support each other through tough times. Glad you manage to keep up and nice to see a post from you as and when.
Lindybird and BrendaH have accepted friend requests so hope I will be able to find you after theupgrade.
Billie is so loving having a home now. First thing in the morning she is waiting for us and that is when she is at most playful. She is a joy to watch and to have as my little companion during the day. I am going to miss her while we are away. She evenually settled down at 11..00 and will now spend the rest of the day sleeping, washing and eating a little at a time. She know exactly where she can find the sun as it moves around in my front room and sprawls out just enjoying all the warmth from it. I wonder if she remembers how cold the winter was.
That is it from me, off to do a bit more in the way of HW now. Have a good afternoon and evening all.
Alan another good pic and they are beautiful little birds. wish I could see them in my garden.
Thank you all for your concern. I know myself that a break would be great but I just can't see a way round it. I would have no problem about doing the journey alone or, indeed, staying in Nethy alone but......!
I totally agree that it seems wrong to kill some birds just to allow people to shoot others, though I accept the point about jobs, especially in areas where there may not be much other employment available.
Church Committee tonight (for my sins, I'm secretary) but may peep in here again after it's over.
Another lovely pic of the Goldfinches from Alan - they are indeed a beautifully marked bird. I have had some on our feeders for a couple of years now, they usually come in groups but I find it very hard to take a pic as they all fly away when I'm in the garden! Was pleased to have some to include in the Big Garden Birdwatch count this year.
Alan - what super captures of the Goldfinches - such a delight.
George - great to see you out and about again! Glad you are feeling better. When we are ''under the weather'' everything is so much worse. And six years is not such a long time you know - loads of different situations come ''home to roost'' (if you'll pardon the pun) as time goes by and certain things happen or one just gets, well. down ! So it's really good to see you post.
I'm on the downward slope now of washing , ironing, hair cut, lawn mow and a zillion etc s to be ready for the weekend . Three days doesn't seem long enough for me to complete all the chores I need to. Emergency dental appointment today - but all is well , phew, manged to get it done at NHS prices :)
I haven't responded to everyone I wanted but smiles and hugs all round you wonderful lot !
Late coming on today. Out down at the gym this morning, then on to garden centre to get some plants and bird food, had lunch in the carpark with sandwhiches from Morrisons. Then onto Kingsthorpe to the library, suburb of Northampton, then home to unpack etc so was feeling exhausted and had to have a rest.
Diane - lets hope its as simple as you have deduced for the upgrade and lets all try and stay positive and hope it won't be too complicated to master.
For all of you that are going on holiday in the next few days have super breaks, enjoy the hiking, osprey watching, visiting grand-daughter and anything else one cares to to whilst on holiday!!!!
George - so glad you are feeling better, it must sometimes come over you. I was sitting in a local carpark this afternoon waiting for OH to see to some business when I just got the urge to read the poem that was done for when my mum died last year and it really helped to remember that although they are not in the same room as you they are just next door so to speak. Enjoy your time with Diesel and glad he is keeping you company.
Alan - what superb pics of the goldfinches, they haven't visited here for a day or two or at least I should perhaps say I haven't seen them.
Annette, Patriciat, Diane, DJoan, Cirrus, Margobird - glad sweetpea is coming along with his solids, and any I have missed off the list - hugs to you all and keep your news coming as its always interesting to read.

AQ - enjoy your break in Europe - the other side of the world for you, I'm sure all will be well.
Jay-Me - nice to see you on board and do post whenever you can its always nice to have a fresh face so to speak.
