Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
SHEILA changing a V50 for another V50 3 years newer, different spec. I stopped driving 5 years ago and OH can drive anything including the much bigger courtesy car ( XC 60 4X4 ) we have till we pick up ours tomorrow. Funny to think I used to drive long wheel based landrovers years age when in the RAF
Well what a busy afternoon you've all had. So have I but not so much fun having been at work. Anyway Mia's had another good walk. Curry for 1 in the oven with extra rice simmering and sat with a glass of wine!
Thanks for the friends invitations - accepted!
Valmc I only wish we lived nearer as I can guarantee you'd have another 2 volunteers to watch your nest.
Evening All: Super sunny day up here on Speyside. Nice walk with old farmers grandaughter and 3 odd dogs. Took her for a walk she had never done and she loved it. She has lived here on and off for 36 years she could not believe the views towards the Cairngorms...result.
Lots of work in garden and then gave the garage a spring clean.
Looking forward to the new format...it is so much like face book...I blog with the RSPB over there and will be joining them up here in August. It gives everyone so much more privacy as I think the way this site has been set up it could leave any of us open to unwanted messages and with very little redress.
Adopted aged cat from next door enjoying late tea...long story for another day.
The goose at Montana Cam has finally gone. Question is will the ospreys now move in. I have my doubts.
Tiger Signature
Never won anything of any great amount on the lottery but hoping my luck will change. I have registered an interest in the Olympics so am eagerly watching my credit card to see if I get what I would really like. It was all my youngest idea as she thought we would like it but it had never crossed my mind. We have registered for the last 2 days of the 3 day event for horses. Ist day is dressage very good very dificult but if you can't get to sleep very good so have given that a miss. 2nd day is cross country and 3rd day show jumping and award ceremony. So please keep you fingers crossed for me. Would like to get memorabilia as daughter was born 20.12. so her birthday that year would be 20.12.2012. Long trek from Scotland but would be so amazing.
Alan I had no idea that Jedward were involved. Just shows how much I know.... although I did know about Blue, and have printed off the words to sing along!! I enjoyed it with dear old Terry (I was an old TOG - when I was working I listened to Radio 4 at home to catch up with the news, and dear old Terry on the drive to work - then I discovered that Classic FM calmed me down on the journey home from work after a trying day!!). Many many years ago I went to Bodnant Gardens, in September, and even then it was lovely. I'm not sure why I know of Beddgelert, but I do (Bethgelert!). Do have a wonderful time away and hope we meet again after the upgrade!

Hazel b said: Alan The talking seems a huge hit. Apparently there have been over 12 million viewers. I seem to remember that Esther Ranzten used to try to get dogs to talk. Glad that so many of you liked the talking dog. Here is another interesting video. A different type of bird. See the bird man. BTW if anyone is wondering how to do live links they are very easy. 1. Copy your URL to the clipboard 2. Write what you want the link to be called down. The highlight it with the cursor. You will see the link on the task bar at the top come up bold. Just click the link avatar and a menu will come up. Just paste the URL into the menu and then choose whether it should open the same or a different window (I usually choose different). That is it job done.

Original Goldfinch...Its been a struggle to get on tonight and infuriating to say the least..I have managed to catch up with everyones messages though whilst at work and photos via my phone thank goodness :-) No sign of Goldfinches today though, I hope it wasn't a one off.. Did observe a few red Kites on my journey around today, another fabulous bird, always a car stopping moment, I must start to remember to take my camera to work. Just to say thank you to you all , it just seems such a lovely friendly site...Have a good evening to you all. Tina

OH had Volvos years ago. He didn't learn to drive until into his 30s when he was given a company car. Although I passed my test in 1975, I only had my own car when we moved to our current house and I needed transport to get out. We had Volvos for a number of years, and now have moved to Audi, The XC would have been useful this winter I have to day. We decided at the last changeover we didn't need 4WD and then we got last winter!! Even so it was only for a couple of weeks we couldn't get out, but as long as dear farmer was prepared to get us to the top of the track we were more or less fine! Could I ask why you stopped driving? (Don't bother responding if you don't want to).
