Here's a very asleep EJ
and shortly I'll be copying her. It's 00.19 and I am off to roost (as Heron says :) )
Gosh, you're right, Cirrus, he's still there! Good job its one of his favourite tasks!
edit: no, wait a minute! Looks like EJ to me! She's panting in the warmth, too. I do so miss the sound, to alert us to events.
Truly, Lindy - it's Odin :) he is panting
EDIT check out his whiter breast - far fewer speckles
Thanks Cirrus - thought I could see EJ's speckled breast...
The return
Our boy is clearly feeling the heat. I'm amazed it is hot enough for him to be so affected - he is panting quite well! It feels decidedly cold down here, with a stiff northerly/north easterly breeze at 10 degrees C. Wonder where EJ is. Wasn't EJ on the nest a lot of yesterday? Perhaps it's pay-back!
And as I write that EJ returns (empty handed), and Odin flies off.

Thanks for the pic of the changeover, Cirrus - I missed it again! grrr...
EJ of the speckled breast :)
It's cold down here too Sheila - we do have sun and brightness but it's definitely BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
We'll (BBC say) will have a high of 16 C (that's 61 F) at 4 pm !! big deal wot good's that other wise we do have a 12 about 1 pm so we're better off than you
What we could really do with Cirrus, is a drop, or more, of rain! EJ doesn't look as though she is bothered by the 'heat' as Odin was. A bit of quick shut-eye perhaps, while trying to look as though she is keeping an eye on all around her.
Back again - well, EJ is panting now Shiela - it's the staying still in the baking sun on one's feathers. Odin's probaby fishing - taking the chance to cool off.
I hope someone will post re fish - i have to go out for a couple of hours now
