Odin has just made a brief visit

He's now flown off again.

Not sure Pharazon - EJ (and or the chicks) periodically break pices off. For the chicks I can understand it's an Osprey form of  ' a rusk'  but other than that , I've no idea. Perhaps someone will tell us.

Hi Pharazon. The nest is usually lined with moss, grass and bark, but I think the bark is meant to be in smaller pieces. As the bark dries out it is probably easier to naturaly break into pieces like people put on their flower beds.

Thanks for starting the thread Barbara.  I'll be honest and say I don't think I could manage two nightshifts on the spin.  Many thanks for all the overnight and morning posts.  Great stuff as always :-)

Afternoon all,

EJ still covering the eggs, not much action at the moment.

Does anyone have a record of how many/what size fish have been brought in so far? I only saw two deliveries from Odin, and they were both tiddlers, and I haven't been keeping up with all the entries here. I was half expecting a 4th egg this year, but I guess this is governed by the availability of food, and there would have to be a glut for the female to lay a 4th.

Hi Heron hope you feel refreshed after some sleep.  I still haven't seen eggs live as EJ or Odin sitting tight each time I look.

 

Does anyone know if EJ has had a fish today.

Good afternoon Robert the Bruce I expect LG will update the blog today if they have time and they may give the info there.  Hope there won't be another egg really as EJ and Odin cope very successfully with 3.

Hello R the B - nice to ''see'' you again over on this side.

The only hint there may have been a fish is the change over at 08.39 and then I know (at least) that he sat for quite a while  - maybe EJ away eating a fish? Have you looked in on FB (I'll just go and see) -  no, no one has mentioned a fish  today . However, I posted and asked specifically if anyone has seen a fish delivered to the nest today. Let's see if I get an answer.
