  • Sheila I find it very touching watching the obvious contentment with each other.  Almost brings tears to my eyes.  They seem so devoted.

  • Got to go now wish there were more hours in the day this time of year.  As I leave EJ  she is alone and quiet with Radio Chaffinch for company.  Have a good evening all.

  • Odin is certainly the best thing that's happened for EJ. No doubt about that as far as I am concerned Margo. I am happy for them both. EJ was so welcoming this year - having ''proved'' him so to speak for two years she is so relaxed with him.

Have a good evening Margo . And you all :)  I'm working this evening so this is probably my last post of the day. so enjoyed all your comments and pics. Thank you.

  • Hi everyone.

Thanks for theupdates and pics. :-)

    Margo:  Have a great evening.

Cirrus:  Have a nice evening at work.

It looks and sounds very peaceful scene at LG just now.  Osprey on egg; sunshine; Radio Chaffinch; cooling breeze.  Magical :-)

  • And hello to you Heron.  Yes all very magical.  Sounds off nest at present.  I am a little confused (easily done one might say) but from the rear (sorry to be so rude) I thought it looked like Odin on the nest.  Can you confirm or otherwise? Oh, that calling is it getting a bit more 'intruder' alert.  A buzzard calling as well. Stopped as I pressed the button, as usual.

Edit, briefly he turned round, and yes, it is Odin.  A buzzard calls again, he strains his neck, and hey ho, EJ arrives with a chirrup.  Off goes Odin, and EJ starts to settle.  But Odin thinks better of it and comes back for a quickie.

Off he goes again, and she watches him with a 'what was that' sort of look.

  • She was about to settle but heard the buzzard again:

But is now back on her precious egg.

  • Hi Sheila :-)

Sometimes its quite difficult to tell them apart from the rear (and that's no rude BTW)  If both birds are on the nest its easy to tell be size even when they're facing away.  But with one I've got to wait for him or her to move so I can see more identifiable features.  Front on they're both unmistakable :-)  Thanks for the fantastic pictures.

EJ on the nest just now.  Occasionally looking up, and sometimes glaring at the camera :-)

  • Oh so sweet.  Odin flies in with another piece of soft bedding material. EJ stands up, Odin adjusts all sort of things while EJ looks on 'Where's my evening fish Odin?' she is cheeping.  Both on the nest together at present EJ on the east side and Odin on the west nearest the camera.
