Evening all: Been out most of the day; just sat down - phew. Off to check other threads; back in a bit!
Just read the Jason blog, it's really so sad. If you are easily upset don't read it.
Trish 2 I have to admit I cried when I read it, so sad.

Trish 2: OH would be a very brave man as winters in a caravan do not bare thinking about and the only running water would be straight through the tin roof!!! There are loads of abandoned cottages around but gettinng modern facilities to any of them would be so costly.
Annette: OCD stick store now sorted moved about a ton of logs from one end to the other. Very much like fridge rotation . I have 2 doors so the old and best burning wood is near to the cottage door the new stuff will come in through other door ready for later. Sad moment was finding a super nest with a woodmouse in it but sadly dead. The nest had a fuschia flower from last years baskets in it so it was a she. I think it could be the mouse that used to get in my feed dustbins because she was very tubby.
Nice walk along a road to Blacksboat station and back along the river on the Speyside way. Met John the postie who asked me how I was my reply " about the same as when we had a chat when you dropped off post to me 4 hours ago!!!"
Sad goings on in a village up the road. 2 youngsters found dead at Tomintoul....watching the news just now so so sad.
P.S. Marge still there doing it for older generation!!!!
its sad news about jason i was devastated when i read that he had died poor little jason

We have actually seen the sun this afternoon but much cooler than of late.
I really haven't any news. We met our daughter yesterday as she came off night duty, left her car at the dealer's garage for it's service and then did some 'retail therapy' and had lunch together. When we went to pick up her car, they said the transmission needed replacing but luckily the warranty had just 6 days left, so it won't cost her anything ! She has always complained to them about it feeling jerky until it was in top gear, but they always said they couldn't find anything wrong. This time OH was rather more insistant with them to look for the problem. Today, we have had friends here for most of the day, but I decided we were going out for lunch, at a local restaurant, and I wasn't cooking.
Linda, Always lovely to see a magnolia tree in flower. All our' tete a tete' have now died but the larger daffodils are still surviving. Pleased to hear that your OH has now bought his Birthday present and, from what you say, he will have already planted them. Sweet Pea looks a lovely bonny and happy little boy.
Margo, I don't know when you will be able to use your garden table again. If Billy is not sunbathing on top of it, he is sheltering or eating underneath. Alway enjoy reading of his progress.
Thanks to ALL for your posts. I must go and check dinner now.
Wendyb I know. A caravan would be too much for me! We always look at the derelict buildings and dream though. There's one in particular that we walk past every time we're on hols up there. How long have you been up there now? Did you holiday there before and decide that was the place to be?
Trish2: We have been here 10 years and yes many holidays but usually on the west coast. Bought from a so called"friend". He had brought it back from dereliction....not. So luckily we could afford to rip it right back to the basics. That was down to no indoor walls no floors and no ceilings. Brilliant now but a lot of stress never to be repeated. It is though a dream cottage but with the winters it needs money to sort out logs etc long in advance.
Evening Brenda H garden table is defintiely Billy's now. Felt sorry for him this afternoon in the rain. He started off under the table but then moved on but I looked in the front garden and there he was sheltering under a very thick pine tree and he was dry as a bone. Stopped raining now and Billy back in his usual place
I had the 'smell or perfume' of LG in the garden this afternoon, I was shredding some conifer branches, that I had cut down earlier this year, the resin given off by the wood as it was chopped up into small pieces, with the friction heat was a treat.
