Hi everyone.

Wind sounds bleeping awful at LG just now.  Even through my puny laptop speakers.

Love the new nest decoration :-)

  • Day cam on at LG.  Radio Chaffinch sings cheerfully despite grumpy weather.

  • Good moning Heron.  Some excellent captures this morning.  Thanks.  Two things of note in your first photo taken at 1.56am.  The lichen and stick in the front of the screen is I think on the large 'Y' shaped stick that Odin brought in yesterday.  It was moving around in the wind occasionally yesterday.  Second, the bright spot on the screen in the distance, looking like a light.  I am pretty certain I remember it from my time there last year, and I was told it was the camera on the capers (ir light, or reflection I'm not sure, but it shows up well in your photo.

Gentle cheeps from EJ, and a brief visit from Odin.  Perhaps he just called in to say 'OK Mrs, I'm just off to get the fish'.  Just as I type that he's back!  Radio Chaffinch and the hum fill the background noise.

    Edit:  off he goes again.

    A good morning from EJ.

    And he's back again.

  • Hi everyone.

SheilaFE:  Thanks for the info on subjects on my first pic.  Thanks for the excellent screenshots.

Not sure who first said that photography was about capturing a moment.  I usually just hit the rapid fire button and hope something decent appears.  Sometimes I get lucky :-)

  • Good morning Heron and Sheila - great pics, thanks Heron - it's good to have someone get the early shots.

I've got a problem at the moment - IE won't open and it's the only browser I have that will  let me see live streaming video at Loch Garten so I'm fed up. I keep re-starting and things but don't really know what I am doing. So, it's especially good to be able to use Firefox or Chrome to at least READ about the doings on the nest. Very many thanks.

  • Cirrus: This happened to me last week and again at 6.00am this morning. Logged on as normal, then nothong would open, I am on Windows7, IE, Firefox, Task Manager.....all dead, Control panel opened then stuck doing nothing...I had to force a shutdown and briefy got a message that IE had failed to respond to a command, before the switch off happened. I restarted as normal and then everything was OK. Anyone else having similar problems with W7?

  • Cirrus:  Sorry you're having problems with IE.  If you're using Firefox, the RSPB link to the LG cam doesn't work in Firefox 4. Use this link to get the live picture.

    Foxtail:  Excellent pictures :-)

Empty nest at the moment.  Lock up your fishes! ;-)

  • Odin just popped in - and out.  No sign of EJ.

I have the web cam open in Google Chrome (Firefox 4!) along with Decorah Eagles & Rutland.  LotL opens in Firefox.
