Margobird I'm so sorry about your latest sad news. I really think that you and Patriciat should let the tears come when ever you need to. It does no good bottling them up. As for Billy - he knows you quite well by now and will have sensed your need for comfort and what better way for him to help you than by sitting with you like that. I bet he'll come on in leaps and bounds now. Has he got a loud purr?
Afternoon all,
AQ : Thanks for the pictures of the flooding at the River Murray.
Linda : I remember seeing Giant Hogweed in Scotland somewhere but cant remember exactly where.
Margo : Glad you are getting on well with Billy.
Not quite so nice weather today as there seems to be more cloud. We went from the sublime yesterday to the ridiculous today. That is the difference between Rutland Water and Tescos. At least the shopping mission is over for another week. It will be even worse next week when the schools are off. How come the schools are off when Easter is over 2 weeks away? Off to take Hamish out for his afternoon walk soon. He is fine at the moment. Still needs the eye ointment and ear drops but they seem to be containing the problems at the moment.
Good afternoon Trish 2 and thanks very much. Better today and I think Billy has helped. Up until just now I had not heard Billy purr but have just been out sitting in the sun with him and he started to purr when was stroking him. Up to now he he just talked to me a lot. I do believe animals sense when something is wrong. My sister has a beautiful Springer and when she suffers her very bad migraines he always sits quitely with her watching with what we call his sad eyes. OH is convinced now that he will come indoors at some stage but I am not pushing him, just letting him do things when he wants.

Good afternoon DjoanS good weather for the gardening at the moment. Billy has been for lots more strokes and sitting on my lap again. Now we just have to teach him that OH can be trusted although he does come a bit nearer to him now.
It was a nightmare journey and now one I want to repeat.
Hi ALICAT OH is convinced that as soon as I leave the conservatory door open he will come in. Billy has been sitting on my lap again while we enjoyed the sun together.
Wow margo, what absolutely wonderful news - that has made my day! I'm so glad that Billy is trusting you at last. You are very wise to take it slowly, as after all, that is why he is trusting you now, because you have not rushed him. Sorry though, to hear that you had such awful journeys both there and back to your lovely night out - what a shame.
Alan: Good to know that Hamish has responded to treatment and is back to his old self. There is only one thing worse than being in Tesco, and that is being in Tesco when the kids are off school. :-(
I'm off out again, as promised to look in on my Friend and cheer her up, she sounded a bit down this morning. Also have run out of some items inexplicably. How can only two people get through so much cheese??? !
Although I haven't looked in much, I am about but on the Daily Update and LOtL sites more.
Margobird - that is great news about Billy - gradually he will come to trust you both and hey presto, before you know it, he will be wanting to come in the house.
This is what happened to my brother. He had a cat that called round but was quite shy at first, then got to know him and eventually she came indoors and virtually spends all her time with him. CC as we call her, only lives next door, but know she will get pampered with my brother as he adores cats. Now he is on his own more it will be great companionship for him.

Lynette I am over the moon about Billy he has given me a lot of joy at a time I most needed it. Have always loved cats but never thought I would gain the confidence of this cat as he was so nervous before. Looking forward to spending many happy hours with him and maybe he will take that big step and come indoors with us.
