Hi all: very late starting this - was gone most of the day. I saw Odin on the nest - brilliant! Now off to check on Lady and, hopefully, catch up on chat!
O,G. We both have had a good time, she is flying Eastern Airways from Aberdeen a small but expensive airline, OH uses it to go to his HO and it normally trouble free. Kiss of death statement really.
Just post a time when you know your schedule with son...hope all goes well with job temporary can lead to other things...so fingers crossed.
original goldfinch completely forgot to say it is tomorrow that I go up to London.

Good evening all OH watching football getting very annoyed so thought I would come on here for a while.
Had some bad news from my sister tonight. She got the results of her full body scan today and the treatment for the smaller tumour has been put on the back burner for now. They have found that the growths in her lung and breast are worse and she now has to have chemotherapy spread over tne next four months. They are giving her consutlant much course for concern. She has been given time to think about the chemo and whether she wants to go through it or but I think she will accept this as her options seem to be getting fewer as time passes. She still sounded cheerful and hard to be the same when all I wanted to do was cry for her. Kept it all together though because I must for her sake. Her OH has not taken this latest news at all well and she will be telling her daughter and son tomorrow. Daughter will probably take it better than son as he is a bit like his Dad. Not a very happy evening at all.
original goldfinch good to read that your sone has an interview albeit for a temporary position.
Margo – sorry I had you going up to town the wrong day! I am so sad to read about your Sister – what a good thing you were not away this evening, but at home for her to tell you her awful news. I thought it seemed odd that someone else was telling her about her proposed radiotherapy treatment when she still had an appointment with the consultant – I suppose that was because they had to tell her something, and that would have been the course of action if there were no other problems. If she is still strong, she will probably choose to try the chemo – but four months of treatments is a lot to go through. Sounds as if it has hit her husband harder than her – but maybe men cope less well with these things. So pleased you managed to stay strong for her – and glad you will have an evening out to help you through tomorrow. Will continue the thoughts and prayers – and big hugs.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
If anyone in Scotland is interested - Roy Dennis is talking about a translocation project of Red Squirrels from GoS, Carrbridge, Badenoch and Strathspey, and Moray to an area south of Ullapool on Landward on BBC1 on Friday 8th April at 19.30hrs.
Have to say that some of the Osprey sightings have been really interesting - especially the appearance of "Baldrick" via Valmc. and the connection between Nimrod and Red8T! Maybe someone with the wherewithal could put it down as a chart? See Glaslyn are first again this year with the eggs!
Yesterday was dominated by the news of Baldrick. I just happened to come across this link to his dear old dad in what was him most infamous moment.
Watch at Henry.
Here was how it was described on here at the the time.
1. Henry's Cracking Return
2. Settling in
3. Henry the Eight I am I am

Margobird: So sorry to hear yet more bad news about your sister. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have to hold yourself together for her sake. Bless you dearie; all my best thoughts are winging their way to you and your family.
Sheila/Wendy: Envy you your pure water.
Alicat: Meant to say earlier, but Bobbie looks like huge fun.
OG: Great shot of Mrs. B and mouthful of fern fronds. Hope son's job prospect is a good fit for him..
Alan: Great golf course - hope the nest is well out of range of any errant balls.
LizLFW: Didn't "know" Baldrick, but saw Valmc's photos on News from Other Nests - brilliant.
Tiger: Couldn't get the video, but read the Henry blogs. What a yobo! Whatever happened to him?
Had wonderful day in garden - so peaceful. Planted my Wendy Heucheras; deep watered the Chinese Pistache trees that went in last Fall; checked and tested all the emitters and mini-sprinklers under the roses and was amused to see loads of sparrows sitting under the bushes having showers! Then made salad for OH and went off for yummy dinner (vegetarian lasagne with mushrooms and other veggies - not mushy at all) at Via Maestra, and berry tart for dessert, then off to concert. Solo violinist was brilliant ; she played a Sibelius Violin concerto (left program in car) a very difficult piece. Oh to be that young and gorgeous and talented! Oh well..... :-) Off to bed. take care everyone.
Annette. Henry failed to return in 2008 and old OVS had EJ all to himself. Henry is thought to "sleep with the fishes" (Heaven I guess for an osprey).
Henry was a fantastic osprey. He just was badly matched and a bit understood.
Dear old Henry was no yobbo Annette. He was a real superdad when he got chance and a fine provider. As Tiger says, he and EJ were just badly matched. She the early returner, he the late one.

Oh, Margo – I’m so sorry too, to hear about your sister. It’s one thing after another. And it’s so hard having to be strong when one just wants to break down and have a good cry. It’s a dreadful time ahead for your sister and you. A big hug to you.
Never mind a wonderful day in the garden , Annette: you had a wonderful DAY!! Everything sounds just great. And I agree with Tiger and Chloe, Annette – Tiger gave me a link so I could read all about Henry - a very special Osprey indeed. Here’s the link.
