Hi all: very late starting this - was gone most of the day. I saw Odin on the nest - brilliant! Now off to check on Lady and, hopefully, catch up on chat!
Annette it is good to know that g'son is doing well. It always takes time to heal. What a super day you had with your whales: eight sounds fantastic. So they are on cue as far as timing is concerned, with the calves expected any day now?
The bore well was dug by our predecessors, but we do have the remains of a pump which was presumably powered by say a steam engine, or possibly more recently by electricity, but I don't know. Our house was abandoned in the early 50s and in quite a ruinous state before our predecessors finally managed to get planning permission to do it up. The borewell, we understand, is about 120feet deep, but believe they hit water at 80ft. It comes thru chalk, so is filtered, unlike WendyB's spring water which I guess comes thru peat?
Blustery day here with rain in the air.

Morning, Everyone: Dry here at present, showers later I think.
How good to come on to find lots of good news! Annette 's Grandson is improving, after a worrying time. And nice to hear how much you are enjoying the Whale Watching! Lynette has her OH back home, and he too is much better. and Alicat has such a cutie! Just love Bobbie, Alicat! I'm sure you can give her lots of love!
And there are now 440 people in this Group!!!! Welcome to newbies Rockchick & Catkins, amongst others!
Hi Alicat, just picked up on what they meant about a cutie. He's gorgeous.
Back in the land of the living again. Hope to get to the gym this morning but only for a swim as he doesn't feel up to a full workout.
Still very windy up at LG and LOtL. Empty nest at LG but Lady is on her nest.. And as I write I think its Odin on the nest but not too sure.. See there is more moss etc .

Sheila: Water comes through granite so crystal clear not much peat on this side of Scotland. We do use a uv filter as we are in a large cattle farming area and it is better to be cautious. Willy 91 year old farmer has drunk the water without uv filter for 60 years so I think is just the best advert.
Alicat: So so cute!!!!
Everyone have a good day I am out and about as I have only 2 days with youngest left so going to make the most of it.

Welcome to Bobbie
Lynette, it’s just wonderful that OH is home and feeling much better
Annette – young girls and showers !! I thought that was boys - .. great news about your grandson
Thanks JSB for the heads up on spam
And a VERY warm welcome to Rockchick & Catkins,
It’s a Brenda day to day so I’m off to finish getting lunch ready and then I’m off out.
See you all later - I do hope it’s a good watching day for you all. (and I really do hope Lady gets a fish all to herself today)
WendyB .... and I bet your water makes much better tea than ours! It is so hard here and any boiled water always ends up with deposits in it!
Just catching up before I go to the airport to pick up son and his wife. Alicat so glad to see that you a a new friend to keep you company I am sure she will make another great friend for you. Glad to hear that everyone is feeling better and hope all have a good day

Good morning ALICAT have just been catching up and arrived at your post with the pic of your new addition. Bobby is just the cutest and what a lucky little dog to have found you. I know she will help you and give you the love you will be giving her. Bobby is just gorgeous. Have a lovely day with her. Bet you are looking forward to taking her for a walk once she has had her injections.
