Morning all; dinner time here - well getting close - off to check the options; back to catch up later.
I have to say that the goose sitting on the egg on the Manton Bay nest is a beautiful bird. Nobody hate me, please :-) I hadn't been watching that cam, but now I'm fascinated to see who will win that nest. http://www.ospreys.org.uk/webcam/

Terry I also have MVSwap and can use it on LG. Have you tried going into view and changing the all view to JPEG files - if you do and then revert back to Snap and go to any rec - you click on the "snap any area" and drag the cursor over to your web screne, take the pic but remember to save it otherwise you will lose it. You then go into file and transfer it to your own pics. Works for me.

She flew off again once the egg was covered, only stayed about 45 mins or thereabouts.

Joan: Woo Hoo!!! Go, barn owls, go. Somebody pipe some love songs into that barn!!!
Just checked and I only saw one right now. It looked like a different owl than the one I've been seeing. The male taking a nap or was the original female evicted? Or maybe I just can't recognize owls. LOLOL
Diane - There were two owls in the box half an hour ago .... but the second one in didn't get a very warm welcome! The first one flew at it with its claws and pinned it to the ground on its back, very aggressively ... and it certainly wasn't trying to mate!!! There are two now ... one in and one out! I can't tell male from female ... but one is smaller than the other.
Joan: Oh, my stars, what's up with the barn owls? I just looked again, and I saw one on the tray outside and one inside. Wonder what caused the aggression? Is the resident female waiting for last year's mate and doesn't fancy this intruder? Or is it two males or two females both wanting to claim the box? Or is it last year's pair, but the female doesn't think she's in adequate condition yet to mate and produce eggs? They have to be in good shape to successfully reproduce. Maybe she was telling him to back off for a while? Maybe she wasn't in the mood. ?!? Hope they put an explanation in a diary entry. Thanks for the heads up.
I can't tell the males from the females either. I think the females are supposed to be bigger, but even then, they seem shaped differently to me. It's difficult to tell them apart.
Edit: OMG. I just turned on my sound. That owl in the box is making the most horrific, wretched noise. What is that?
