Morning all; dinner time here - well getting close - off to check the options; back to catch up later.
Well, no gardening here today! Overnight rain and now just “mizzle” – well, I can’t tell if it’s mist or drizzle! Actually, we were needing some rain after recent very dry spell, and a good shower would settle the newly composted area of the veg bed – then we (meaning he!) can plant peas and potatoes.
Lynette – glad your OH isn’t suffering so badly from the pain.
Annette – poor Grandson – I hope it heals soon! And you be careful through your busy week! Do you have plans yet to go visit Delilah?
Diane – wild-life carer, house renovator, plumber, political activist, nurse and now computer consultant – is there anything you don’t do?!
Patricia – are you still having carers in to help with OH? Do be careful for your own health – between him and four dogs I wonder whether you are getting any rest!
Must contribute something to the day – have a list of wet-weather tasks for OH!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good morning Sheila FE don't know if it is still raining at LG but it is windy. Raining quite heavily here but we do need the rain after a very dry March. Glas you mention tht David Gessner book which Lindybird recommended last year and which I had forgotten about. That will go on my list now. I had a Kindle for Christmas and vouchers so as soon as OH gets some spare time he will help me load it as it will be much easier for me to read as you can enlarge the print. Some books have such small print I really struggle with them.
Hope your digital switch-over goes without any hitches. It hasn't reached this area yet but we have Sky anyway so it won't be a problem when that does happen.
While I was out this morning putting fresh food and milk out for Billy he appeared and waited till I had done it. A short while later I went out to sort the bird feeders out and left the conservatory and garage doors open. He had a wander round the garage and then as I watched he stepped inside the conservatory. He spent a few minutes just looking in and then left. This was a really big step in our efforts to encourage him to come indoors. When weather settles down again I will leave the door open more often and see if he will make that final step into our front room. I am feeling quite chuffed as it has taken 5 months to reach this stage.

Good morning Lindybird heavy rain which according to our weather girl would not happen, just a chance of a shower. OH and I laughed and said that probably means it is going to pour down and it did. Seems to be easing a bit now but can't complain as the garden needs some water after an extremely dry March.
How kind of you to do friend's ironing for her even after you had done yours. Your friend must have been pleased to see you and hopefully she will recover well.
Glad you OH enjoyed his birthday meal and wine, sounds like my kind of meal steak and onions with chips and stir fry veg. I love onions but the trouble is the smell gets everywhere in the bungalow and you pick up a towel to use and it smells of onions. Always have a candle going but it doesn't eradicate it completely.
Annette your poor grandson but as you say it is a good job he can't see the wound. Hope it heals up quickly. You seem to have been so busy so hope you are going to take some timeout for yourself soon. Glad your weather has returned to normality with a manageable temperature.
Diane what a talented lady you are in every way. Seems there is nothing that you can't put your hand to.
Lynette thanks for the captures of Lily and cubs outside. When I looked in last evening the den was empty but could hear them outside.
Hope your OH is coping and he doesn't have to wait too long for a scan.
Good morning Alan and thanks for the link to the wild peregrine cam at Falls of Clyde. It seems as though the camera is much closer this year and very clear. I had forgotten to look at this for a while.
Hi margo - How are you ?? Glad to hear that Billy Whizz is now feeling brave enough to come into the conservatory - hurray! What a good idea for you to have a Kindle, as I believe you can change the size of the print so that will help you with your reading.
Good morning patriciat you really do have your hands full what with your OH and the dogs. Must be such hard work for you but pleased you are coping.
Still no post from ALICAT so a bit worried for her. I agree the remarks made by her neighbour were completely uncalled for. If you are looking in ALICAT I am thinking of you and send hugs.
original goldfinch another member who always seems so busy, do you ever have time for relaxation. Hope weat weather tasks for OH go well.
These Starlings are happy with the weather, and the worms and grubs coming to the surface:
