Weekly Chat, Sunday March 27, 2011

Morning all; dinner time here - well getting close - off to check the options; back to catch up later.

  • Not been able to boot up for a couple of days - sigh. Now deleted Update KB955759 - which I've read about online as being a source of freezing  for XP , games etc so thought it might be affecting me too. We'll see. I'll have to read back some other time to assure myself you are all well, but meanwhile - I hope pussy cats have come home - and pooches are well and tail wagging and the all you fans  are well too. Those of you who have been suffering recently I do trust you are WELL on the mend now . OK off to do useful things like banking while all seems well with my system.

But you must know, those of you who know Quiet Woman:    something dreadful has happened in QW's family. I'm sure she wouldn't mind my telling you all - this is why we haven't seen her online this season - I only know this because, since I couldn't boot up I text her to ask if Odin had arrived over the weekend.   QW's daughter's husband died VERY suddenly  !!!  In January AND daughter's son had a horrible accident on the farm earlier in March - he lost a foot !!!!!!!!!!!!   It's beyond belief isn't it - SO much horribleness together. I am shocked as I'm sure you all are now you know. Does anyone have her  actually email address ? or address address? I'd like to write her reallly.

  • Good Morning, Monday again.  Its very very misty here, can't even see the fields behind our house properly yet.

Here are your Monday Smiles, the last this time, of the big trucks with the slogans on:

(thanks to Diane who I see has been standing in for me in my absence - v. funny, Diane!)

    -- Have a Good Monday!

  • LOLOLOL Lindy: I especially love the first photo! I have a long list of politicians that I'd like to send it to.

  • Glad to make you laugh, Diane.  Sorry, Cirrus, only just worked out that QW might mean QuietWoman - is that right?  So sorry to hear of their troubles, how awful.

  • LINDY   love the sound of Sunday meal, sweetcorn, parsnips and cauli are my kind of veg.  We tried to sell our analogue flat screen dirt cheap and no success so we gave it to the charity new start who were glad of it. They said someone would be glad of it and all they would have to do was provide a freeview box

  • Lindybird thanks for the Monday smiles!

    Awful about QW

  • ALICAT  don't think you are daft at all, most of us have been there.

WENDY  glad you are back safe and sound , enjoy your time with daughter and the concert and hope to see you soon.

LINDY  as usual great Monday smiles.

  • Cirrus   Sorry to hear the news about QW.  I am not sure if she is a member of the Loch Garten Group but has been a regular poster on the main blog to 2008 at least. Sorry I do not have any contact details.

Lindybird  Thanks for the Monday smiles.

  • Godo morning Lindybird classic Monday Smiles, thank you.

  • Morning all ... a bit dull here ... and they promised sun :-(

Cirrus - I was so sorry to read about Quietwoman's troubles ... that is awful for her. Sorry you have had computer problems again.

Linda - great Monday Smiles ... back to normal now, although Diane was a good stand-in! Glad to hear your friend is recovering after her operation ... but that is so sad about "Stella".

Diane (and others) - interesting to read the various thoughts about the barn owls behaviour. I was watching at one point last night, and one owl was making that strange noise in the box. The second owl came into the box ... the first owl went out ... and the second owl started making the same noise! Very strange. I hope it is mentioned in the diary today.

Gary - nice to see you around, even if you have 'not much to report'! Are we not due another Toffee pic? :-)))

Right ... must go and do things! Thanks to everyone for chat etc.

    Take care

Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!
